Just watched the highlights and don't want to repeat what has been well said above, but that must probably be our best result of the season so far given the timing.  It will give added confidence for the remaining games.  Great performance all round including the management.

3 withdrawals from Scotland u21’s squad and still Stanway and Mcpherson are overlooked as replacements are Ryan Carr, Josh Dede & Taylor Steven.  Not complaining right enough plus the Steven’s call up puts him out St Johnstone’s game at wkend.

Gemmill can do one, now I'd rather have our players available.

One for the excellent and handsome 😉 curators of the Thistle Archive. Where does this seasons number of individual goalscorers sit in a historical context? Can’t help but feel it’d be toward the upper reaches of the list.

Ben McPherson was our 18th different scorer in all competitions this season. Only 3 seasons in history have a greater spread, see below:

21 - 2018-19
20 - 1957-58
19 - 2006-07
18 - 1892-93
18 - 1912-13
18 - 1942-43
18 - 1999-00
18 - 2019-20
18 - 2025-26

Amazing statistical quirk.  21 scorers, for a total of 63 goals.  Highest was Blair Spittal on 8, then FItzy (debut season) and Scott McDonald on 7, and Dools (final season) on 6.

This season, with (at least) 6 games to go, we have 18 scorers, for a total of 71 goals.  4 have over 8 goals already...

It's interesting to note that this metric is clearly not necessarily indicative of a good season. Two of the three seasons having the greatest spread were distinctly underwhelming (in each case, bottom half of the Championship and only 4/5 points clear of the relegation play-off). Of particular note is the inclusion of 2019-20, i.e., the truncated covid season (and as such, the high spread was achieved in fewer games) which ended with us rock bottom (ppg).

Turner was booked as far as I am aware.

He was for 'overexuberant celebrations' whatever the feck that is. I might see the point if the goal was at the other end but it was with the young team!  Otherwise the ref was generally invisible which is a good sign in my book.

From what I remember at the game, Fitzptarick was booked after his goal.

Think Stanway and Ashcroft also got booked for fouls.

Ingram got booked for time wasting at a throw in.

Don't remember Turner getting booked

The BBC changed it to Fitzy. Was showing as Turner straight after the game last night.

Still not sure why he was booked. Didn't take his shirt off or even jump the wall! Are players not allowed to celebrate at all?

Is the technical definition not something like "leaving the field of play"? I suppose that he did do that and engage at least slightly with an enthusiastic band of his own team's supporters.

He got booked for sitting on the wall. Think that’s him on 3 now. Another 8 and he misses a game

Looking at the stats on the SPFL website it looks like O'Reilly, Ashcroft and Stanway will need to keep away from the refs as they are all close to picking up a suspension which we could do without given the injury situation.

Finally caught up with the highlights.

No doubt about it both goals were very good. First a great 'team' goal second a great individual goal. Either good enough  to win any game.

For the first time I'm not sure i agree with Wilson's comment that we controlled the game. I think that Raith had too many chances to score to substantiate that assessment. However I appreciate  i was watching highlights which I know can be misleading.

Overall a great result.

I would never want to be on record as suggesting or condoning such nefarious actions, but could there be  a case for deliberately timing a booking so as to be suspended for a meaningless game and available for a vital one?

What meaningless game do you have in mind ?
