Fawlty Towers
I have put my votes in for player and young player of the year through TJF and it was a tough decision in each category this season. Hopefully we are celebrating a victory in the Dunfermline game when the event takes place. https://ptfc.co.uk/product/partick-thistle-2025-26-player-of-the-year-awards-tickets/
jagfox
Too hard to narrow down. Most players have had very good seasons in their roles. Some have maybe faded a little from very bright starts but are still contributing. Tso'anelo Lets'osa Some are under appreciated for their overall contribution. Aidan Fitzpatrick Some have just had fantastic games when the metrics dont indicate it. Robbie Crawford vs Ross County Some are just very consistent and again dont get the credit they deserve. Paddy Reading Even the three main players who are injured could all have been candidates. Watt, Chalmers and Smyth Lee and Dan have been solid at the back too and are arguably the best pairing in the league. Ben McPherson has been a revelation for me and up the with Jack McMillan with the potential to go higher if he stays fit. Josh Clarke has been very good. He has gone into consideration for senior Interational football. Alex Samuel and Ben Stanway would be my pick, at a push for senior and young player of the season but there are many viable candidates, which is a great place to be in.
Jaggernaut
That's a pretty good summary, jagfox. Fortunately, there's a lot of competition because the players have been good, rather than one or two who've been less bad than the others! For me, Stanway, with McPherson a close second. But with a few important games left, Fitzy, Paddy or Alex could make a late and decisive flourish!
thistle4celtic1
Tough call. So many great choices. I would give Paddy Reading the nod for his consistency. Nothing too flashy but always solid.
partickthedog
Difficult to look past Ben Stanway for young player, though Ben McPherson might come into the running there too. Having got that relatively easy choice out of the way, I agree that the senior award could go in several different directions. In the end I went for the following, with a main element in my reasoning being that all 3 have fantastically positive attitudes: 1) Ben Stanway 2) Alex Samuel 3) Ben McPherson However, having submitted my vote, I could not really have complained if Lee Ashcroft, Dan O'Reilly and a few others chose to have a word with me. If I had been voting earlier in the season Logan Chalmers would have figured highly as well, so here's hoping that he can still make an inspired contribution. ChiThistle
What a great problem to have. Thought Stanway deserved a shout as POY, but since he’s eligible for YPOY I figured it freed up a POY spot for someone else. i just want to buy several rounds for this entire team. Where do I cast my vote to do that? 😆

lady-isobel-barnett
Well done to Ben S.👍 Even those who didn't vote for him as first choice will acknowledge his effort and enthusiasm. He also comes across as being a pleasant modest lad who's first and foremost very much a team player. Also great to see a Youth Academy player get the Senior award. I guess the only way Ben will be playing for us next season is if we get promoted. Even if we were, still a bit of a long shot at that. Whatever I wish Ben all the best with his future career.

There was a nice cameo at the Ayr game when Ben and Banzo were tussling for the ball right in front of the Thistle fans at the Railway End. Both went at it full tilt with Banzo coming out on top on this occasion and winning a free kick. However, there was a mutual gesture of respect between the two of them as they parted company to get on with the game, which was good to see. Sporting rivalry and camaraderie is not quite dead!
Jaggernaut
I watched Bannigan closely on the live stream; lots of very accurate passing by him, though most of them were no more than 3 or 4 yards, and several good one-touchers. Didn't see him do anything wrong, and some might say he was the engine room of the Ayr team. Having said that, he didn't actually do anything creative at all; it was all basic, unadventurous stuff that wasn't going to (and didn't) lead to anything special. I'd rather have our current set of midfielders.
lady-isobel-barnett
Bannigan was Ayr's MotM on Saturday and I thought when Ayr played last game at Firhill he was the best player on the pitch. But, yes I agree our current midfielders are preferable.

Kind of takes the surprise out of it.

a f kincaid
Just an observation. Was it really desirable to show the complete list of results right down to the "bottom" players? Could the list not have been restricted to the results for the top 2 or 3 players?

I take your point, but it was quite nice to see that Cammy Logan had received a vote, albeit mysteriously his "red rectangle" was less thick than for those who have thus far received no votes. Auld Jag
I hope master Stanway has a big trophy cabinet at home. Agree with @lady-isobel-barnett he is a great young player and a very nice person, all the best to him in the future, except if he is playing against us.
