The league campaign continues with yet another important win down at Somerset Psrk tomorrow.

Unfortunately Scott Brown is no longer in charge and John Rankin comes in as interim coach. He will no doubt treating the remainder of the season as his interview for the job on a more permanent basis.

It will be interesting to see how many of their players make a miraculous return from injury this Easter weekend.

Anyway, thats enough about the opponents.

We had a great couple of wins with some lovely play which resulted in some great goals and we find ourselves not too far of the Johnnies of Perth, again.

Wilson has the players tuned right into what he wants and I would be disappointed if we dont come back up the road with three points.

Most of the team ill pick itself but will Wilson tweak the midfield engine room again?

Great to have Josh Clarke back from International duty and he goes back in despite Budd-Lite doing well enough in the games he played.

Great to be looking forward to away games with a level of expectation rather than hope again.

C'mon the Jags. Let's go 💛❤️

The only thing certain about tomorrow is that we will park the car in the same car park as we always do. I have lost count of how many times I have parked there, in the mud and blaes park/field just to the west of the racecourse. After the game there is always same stock car like dash to squeeze through the two car width exit.

Weather forecast is not looking great, hopefully it does not spoil the game.

Ideally we want the weather to do everything possible to confer advantage on the home team in the Arbroath wind tunnel (as they take on St Johnstone), but to relent when approaching Ayr, so that Thistle can play good football at Somerset Park.

At the moment, I see no reason not to start with the same XI as against Ross County, although I appreciate that weather, ground conditions and other more positive tactical considerations may have an impact on Mark Wilson's thinking.

PS I would bring back Clarke in goals, though Bud did fine in his 2 games, especially the early save from Easton at Raith.

BBC Weather doesn't appear to have changed its prediction for Ayr this afternoon in days, so I doubt its accuracy. Plus it is the BBC, after all.

Just if it is spot on we're due the Dave fella to hit home at 4pm. It's predicted to be coming from due south. It'll thus be mainly cross pitch with any advantage slightly favouring the team kicking towards the away end. We'll see!

Club advising fans to allow extra time for entry today as Police Scotland will have search stations in place looking for pyro’s and anyone in possession could face a football banning order.

So keep the flares at home unless pairing them with a nice polo top and velvet blazer.

Taylor not been as good as in previous games, but hopefully that will come.

Not much of a game so far. We seem to be stuck with the centre backs rather than our more creative players bringing the ball forward. When we do get the ball in promising central positions we keep pushing it wide rather than head straight for goal.

Fitzy not had a run yet.

I hope that playing towards the fans behind the goal in the second half will inspire us.

Nobody seems to want to get the ball up the park, let alone into the danger area in the opposition penalty box. Slow, laborious build-ups allow Ayr United to defend in depth. Taylor is the bright spark in midfield; McPherson is too slow and too one-footed to play wingback, getting closed down quickly when on the ball.

Agreed. Too slow and sideways. Need more urgency and the usual strong finish.
