Clydebank have announced we are their opponents for Nicky Little testimonial on Sunday 26th July.  It’s final weekend  of leauge cup  matches, so guessing we are sending the youngsters.

It depends how the schedule falls - that might be our free game day.

I can remember us playing some sort of friendly against Clydebank at Glenview Park round about 2004. It was when Clydebank were trying to relaunch themselves after their previous iteration went out of business and was acquired by Airdrie United. I think that the game was a fundraiser for Clydebank, and I am not sure if it would have been classified as an "official friendly". It was perhaps more of a "Thistle XI". I do not think it was a pre-season friendly. Maybe it was more of a bounce game on a free weekend mid-season for whatever reason. I am struggling to remember too much about it, but I am fairly sure that we started with a line up not too far from the recognised first team (I have a recollection of Gerry Britton and Adrian Madaschi playing), but by the end we were mainly fielding youngsters. I think that we won fairly convincingly, but Clydebank scored at least one. Can anyone recall any more about this?

Well remembered! Totally agree that it was a Sunday and that Madaschi played. Cannot remember the score, so happy to go with you on that too!

Tried to find any info seems impossible all i could see was this when checking there

On Sunday, 12 October 2003, Clydebank F.C. lost 0–4 to Partick Thistle in a friendly match played at Glenhead Park in Duntocher. An estimated crowd of 675 spectators attended the game.

This match holds historical significance as it occurred during the "phoenix" revival season of Clydebank F.C. after the original senior club was bought out and relocated to Airdrie in 2002.

Its really good to see how well the Bankies have done since they returned and their crowds.

The whole Airdrie United scenario at the time, where they were allowed to take over Clydebank in 2002 was poor form to say the least.

Cant remember specifics but did Clydebank not do something similar to East Stirling in the beginning?

When I got a subbutteo soccer scoreboard (maybe around 1970) the printed strip of paper for that team said "E.S. Clydebank".

East Stirling Clydebank. I often went down to Kilbowie to watch them (mid 60s?). Can't mind all the politics but would be very surprised if the Steedmans weren't involved.
