elevenone
No sooner has our season ended and it is onto the league cup group stage draw tmrw. Why do I feel we will get St Mirren? Couple potential new grounds in the mix for me. Who are all we all wanting? Kilmarnock, Peterhead, East Kilbride and Linlithgow Rose for me 🏆

Aliballibee
Dunfermline proved it could be done, it would be really good to see Thistle have a decent run in one of the cup competitions. It's been a long time since I've seen us in a cup semi-final.
JeanieD
Would take Falkirk, ourselves, Alloa, East Fife and one from Group 5 just for the sake of history
partickthedog
Happy to do a bit of travelling. Would take Aberdeen, Peterhead, Stranraer and Brora Rangers if all the games were away. Unfortunately, I think the compulsory draw puts us away to the seeded team (ie Aberdeen), so we would only get one of the 3 more interesting destinations. Not really in the mood to start thinking about the actual games themselves. But for away games I'd go from Pot 1, The Clep Bar (Dundee). And from the other pots any one from The Hole I' the Wa' (Dumfries), The Four Marys (Linlithgow) and The Stag (Forfar).
Third Lanark
Would love it to be Linlithgow Rose, lived in that town for over 20 years previously, great town and a great set up with their stadium as well. I even had the honour of playing on it when my school football team got a schools West Lothian cup final and the final was being on their pitch. Unfortunately we lost on penalties 😄
ThickAsThieves
Can’t be unfortunately - we’re at home vs. Pots 3 & 5, away vs. Pots 1 & 4.

For Pot 4, it is a toss up between ticking off a new ground (Spartans or East Kilbride) or the longer outing to Stranraer. The ground is in a play park, so you can keep young children or grandchildren easily amused right up to kick off time. I can remember older fans having impromptu games of football as well. Real summer holiday atmosphere and memories of Quinton Jacobs!
Albert's Ghost
Could be worse - Livi, Stenny, Forfar, Brechin. Edited May 27 by Albert's Ghost typo
elevenone
Winnable but unlucky from a bore perspective to get a fellow Championship team from pot 1 and 3.

Maybe so but the “easiest” of the pot 1 away ties gives us a better chance of progressing
JeanieD
Can’t take this competition too seriously anymore given the seeding/byes which effectively means that one of those teams parachuted into the last 16 (where they are again seeded) effectively have to play 4 games and they win the cup, that and the bonus point for a win on penalties makes it - at least to me - more like a glorified pre-season kick about. Good on St Mirren last season for bucking the trend though.
elevenone
Maybe the Gods will shine on us and we will get Livi in Scottish Cup, Challenge Cup and Play offs too meaning we would have 9 matches against them next season so who says Scottish footie is not exciting. It's a bugger they've done away with replays in the cup comps.

According to my son, it could be 11...! We could meet again in a later round of the League Cup if we both qualify from the group, and if we finish 1st and 2nd in the league with exactly the same points, gd, and goals scored, there would be a one-off game to decide the winner...! Oh lol can you imagine. Can also factor in extra time and pens in some of the 11 just to maximise more on field time with em.

My mistake - the scenario he meant was finishing 2nd and 3rd with everything equal between the 2 clubs. In that case there would be a one-off play off game with the loser playing in the quarter final and the winner playing the winners of that quarter final...which could be the same team again, so back up to 11! It is getting a bit daft though - not sure I fancy playing Stenhousemuir that many times!
