Yeah other than half a season for us when everyone in the squad was firing on all cylinders towards the end of the season he has been absolutely hopeless. Especially on the contract he has been on when he re-signed. Does not fit under Wilson's style

I don't think it's fair to expect much from a player who has had very limited opportunity to find form over the course of the season. Most players need playing time to perform at their best. But that then begs the question - why was he allowed to take the free-kick? Can only assume it was because of what his team mates see at the training ground. I think he could still be a decent player, but I think it's likely he'd be looking for an opportunity at another club now, and it's probably best for all parties for him to go. ThickAsThieves
Wonder if there’s any chance of us getting Ruari Paton. Scored 5 in 10 starts (13 appearances) for St Johnstone since arriving on loan in January. One season left on his contract with Port Vale but transfer listed. I still don't understand why we didn't give that free-kick to either Chalmers who had a really goo attempt 5 minutes earlier or Fitzpatrick who bar Watt looked the player most likely to do something Giving it to the guy who's only being on the park for 5 minutes and hasn't hit a freekick of note all season was a bit odd

To my mind he's not been the same player since we had him playing at right back last season. I did read that Raith were looking at him however also read that Raith had some budget problems. Wherever he goes I hope he can recover what he once had. If nothing else his dead ball delivery used to be excellent but its been a long time since I've seen even that. Regarding Turner I think your right about the fresh start thats why I qualified why I would like him to stay. He is not a midfielder in the traditional sense. He is though a midfielder who can get beyond the strikers and before he left us for Ross County thats where he excelled. Regular football and he would soon get his dead ball delivery touch back. However if we are not going to play him to his strengths then I agree we might as well let him go. PS: Without wishing them any harm I hope your correct about Raith Rovers and budget problems

Auld Jag
Aidan Fitzpatrick - Assists 17, Goals 6 Logan Chalmers - Assists 9, Goals 12 Ben Stanway - Assists 4, Goals 12 Above is the stats for the season just ended for 3 players that will probably leave when their contracts expire. That means a lot of goal involvements being taken from our team. It would be good if we could persuade at least one of them to stay, if more than one was still with us at the start of next season it would exceed most of our expectations. All of the above players played a big part in us finishing second in the league, getting to the final of the playoffs and reaching the 1/4 finals of both major cup competitions. If we are to replicate or better it in 26/27 and all of the above leave it would be some effort by our management and recruitment teams to find suitable replacements to achieve that, of course if that did happen i have no doubt that would have other bigger teams (not sure any team is bigger than Thistle ) looking at our management/recruitment teams. We also need to hope that Alex Samuel can carry on his goal scoring form of the season just ended. All stats from the magnificent @The Thistle Archive. 1
Fawlty Towers
Hopefully the club will get the squad update out by the end of the week, not much of a break with pre season starting on the 16th of June so would be good to have the majority of the squad in place for that to give the coaching team the maximum time to implement their ideas. Not squad related but see we are doing a full pitch relay so wonder if we will have any home friendlies before the league cup group games. I remember reading a groundsman saying that even if the pitch looks OK at the end of a season unless you do a reasonable degree of work then you will see a deteroriation during the next season. It was just that last season we had the friendlies at Petershill but that might have been a timing issue.

Third Lanark
A few Raith fans saying we have been linked with Ross Matthews their former captain. Would certainly be another leader type player on the pitch although seemingly he also has offers from a club in Australia

Dick Dastardly
I can understand that move. Probably a big pay increase and not moving far from Glasgow. Possibly put off moving further after his Norwich spell.
