Good interview with Ian Baraclough:

Interview could have lasted about 3 minutes as Ian Barraclough doubled up on identifying Ben Dempsey Euan Henderson and then signing aforementioned players .

Absolutely no mention of data driven analytics and possibly identifying players from other leagues or even continents .

Barraclough got an easy ride there , no mention of a goal scoring forward as MW alluded to in the media

Waste of a wage as a Chief Executive could easily carry out the job he is doing just now .

You've made your opinion several times. Let's see how it pans out. Very few fans grumbling at moment.

Falconer out on loan to Kelty Hearts until January.

I’m assuming this completes the clearing of the decks for one or two incoming loans.
Like Diack and Horn, Falconer wasn’t going to get much, if any game time. But we’re now down to a squad of 20 assuming everyone is and stays fit.

No idea of the sides but lost 5-0 to Dundee United yesterday at Firhill

Somebody on P&B saying our side was mostly players who had hardly played or coming back from injury.

Horn scores 2 today and Diack gets booked within 20seconds of coming on as a sub.

We’ve been crying out for a goalscoring forward since last season

In the playoffs against St Mirren we played them off the park second half but never looked like scoring .

Absolutely exactly the same at Easter Road , played very well without any goal threat .

This season in the league Samuel and Watt haven’t scored yet

Our Sporting Director and Recruitment Officer should have addressed this by now

Huge week for our Club

I agree we need a goalscoring forward, but imo we also need to see more from some of the players we have. Samuel, Watt, Smyth and Stanway have not got anywhere near last seasons levels. Stanway has been given some leway because of when he signed, but we need to see improvement from them all soon.

Stanway doesn't deserve any leeway at all.

That he's off the pace is purely down to the decisions he and his advisors made.

I think this is pretty much just Stanway's normal level of performance once you take away last season's goals, which to me always felt a bit unsustainable.

He hasn't scored in a regular league game from open play in 14 games and indeed only 2 in calendar year 2026 from 18 games.

Glentoran are looking for a new manager and Ian Baraclough is one of the contenders.

I would be sorry to see him go but it he does then it would be interesting to see who replaces him as I assume we would keep the same structure.

For those who would say that we don't need a sporting director and a chief executive could perform that role as well I would say we don't actually have a chief executive at the moment (just an acting general manager) so would need to make an appointment there.

Anyway, probably all media speculation but gives us something to talk about.
