It will be good to get McPherson and Clarke contracts confirmed. I guess Ben on holiday and Josh is away on international holiday. Short break for him

Was announced ages ago that they had signed permanently was it not

Indeed. I have copied and pasted from the Squad Update recently posted on the PTFC website:

Joining the club on permanent contracts:

Josh Clarke

Ben McPherson

Great to sea Oisin Smyth coming in.

I think they were PCA’s. I thought there would be some announcement confirming.

The recent update said “joining on permanent contracts”

Can we have a striker please? One that will score goals and not another forward that chips in with a single figure contribution. Olly Shaw worth a punt? (Probably under contract)

Im not sure we will see another centre forward as such with Watt and Samuel signed up and think it will be more wingers probably. Euan Henderson will definitely be one of those options to replace the likely outgoing duo of Chalmers and Fitzpatrick.

I wonder if we play 2 up front next season if it will be Samuel & Henderson with Watt playing a bit deeper but Henderson can also play out so there will be options if we go 4-3-3.

Suppose we will need to see who’s all here next season

Decent news re Henderson & Smyth. Does this mean Diack is off?

He is under contract for next season but it was strange that he was not in the squad for the St Mirren games (unless he was injured but that was not stated by Wilson pre either match).

I think there is a player in there but don't know if it like the Nisbet situation in that he needs to take being let go to realise that he needs to get the finger out.

I’m sure I read Diack was injured.

Glad to see Henderson signing, he looked decent & dangerous against us last season.

Hopefully he can get a good pre season and be involved in the league cup group games unlike last season then (Diack that is).

Great news about the signings of Euan Henderson and Oisin Smyth. Welcome to the iconic Partick Thistle Football Club. Wishing you every success.

These signings give us a much stronger looking squad.

Our team is taking shape  for example 4-3-3 formation

Clarke

McPherson/O'Reilly/Loughrey/  Reading

Smyth/Robust Central Midfielder (Osman with pace?)/Left Sided Midfielder

Samuels/Watt (could Watt do a job for us as a midfielder?)/Henderson

BENCH

Keeper?

Logan

Left Sided Full Back/Wide Player - like Harry Milne)?

Ashcroft (expect he will start season but might finish it on the bench)

Robust Central Defender (someone like St Mirren's Gogic)

McBeth

Crawford

Diack

Striker (in the mould of Graham, ie, 6 yard box predator)

For Robust think Tall, Quick and Strong; by my reckoning  we are looking for 5 more players assuming Fitz, Chalmers & Stanway are off.

Is it a worry ?

Last season most on here were underwhelmed by the transfer activity and we ended up having a great season. With the signings today getting a positive response, should we expect the Jag-factor and a relegation battle ?

There is still a lot of work to be done. Putting things in perspective Smyth is just keeping the status quo and Henderson isn’t a step up on either Fitzpatrick or Chalmers.
