Jaggernaut
If it is down on last season, anyone any idea why that has happened? The continuing costs of living? The (what seems like inevitable) failure to win promotion through the playoffs yet again? Some poster harping on about the inevitable demise of the club if we don't get a proper business plan formulated and put into action (although what that precisely might be, and how it should be implemented, is never actually described)? As I understand it we’re significantly up on last season despite all the above (and some fans being a lot poorer after the World Cup)

I had noted the 2544 number and thought it was at the start of August.
Dr.D
Perhaps some people see no value in puchasing Season Tickets because of games being switched from Saturdays to Fridays, and other days because of Television, etc.

laukat
I think the season ticket numbers are really encouraging. It used to be an achievement to get to 2000 but we may be looking at over 3000. Perhaps the kids go free and junior jags initiatives are starting to have an effect?

I'm a long time season ticket holder sitting in the same seat and around me largely similar. Same faces all just showing signs of age. It's easy then to be less aware of the effects of the kids go free initiative. Once tho' you attend an away game or two do you witness just how successful that initiative has been. I'd suggest the average age of attending Jags fans has dropped year on year, and that in itself will push up ST sales. I realise the advent of the Ultras (detest that term, the lads/lassies are great) will also have affected both average age and STs sold but I imagine Manpreet & other organisers were themselves fruits of kids go free. I feel we are now in an era where both ST sales and attendances are not solely driven by success on the park. Being realistic that's a more sustainable product.
Jaggernaut
So, looks like great news, even "without any business plan."
laukat
It would be interesting to see what the rise of season tickets is in each stand? My general perception is the JHS is the older season ticket holder wanting a better view of the game (that's were I am) and JLS the younger fans wanting to be in amongst the singing. Not impossible that we could end up with the JLS being all season tickets in years to come

Jimmy McD
I personally don't like watching a game from behind the goal, always try and get down the side if possible.................

The number of games that get moved for television is an issue for a lot of people now and it is unfortunate that the better we do on the pitch the more games get moved. Norgethistle
Renewed mine this season, let’s see if I can make more than 4 home league games this season (tonight though is game 1), still doing the stream monthly pass, but unless quality and sound / video issues get sorted this season early doors I’ll likely cancel end of September.

True, but if we get promoted even more games will be moved from Sat 3pm. And that won't even relate to whatever success we're having on the pitch. I still attend all home league games regardless if televised. But as a ST holder that's irrelevant to turnover. I'm now more likely to not attend away games that are on council telly. I'd suggest where we suffer at Firhill is in a drop in percentage away support. Ideally if we have to have the cameras at Firhill it's against teams with a poor fanbase. In that respect we've hit it off tonight. Lets hope next TV league game at home is to the likes of Stenny or QP and it's not to the Pars.

A glutton for punishment, I've signed up for the year (yet again), but you are right about the product: it's vastly inferior to what even many part-time and lower league teams provide in terms of image quality and sound. Has been for years.
