Partick Thistle Women - Season 26/27

Recommended Posts

Whatever football team I support these days, the story seems to be the same, whether Scotland or Partick Thistle. Plenty of possession and chances but just cannot score.

Half-time here at Firhill and the women’s team are 0-1 down to Montrose. Hopefully we can turn it round in the second half.

It seems that the best route to goal is a well-hit shot from distance which dips just under the bar. Montrose executed one to perfection. Our shots when on target are either too low and easily gathered by the keeper or too high and blazed over the bar.

Our 2 attackers are quick and lively and have the beating of the defence, but support seems slow to arrive.

In fairness, the game is being played in a torrential deluge!

Sounds like it was an exciting, if somewhat damp, game at Firhill today. 2-0 down after 55 mins but 3 goals in a 6 minute spell ultimately secures a very important 3 points.

Hopefully those that were watching the women's team for the first team liked what they saw.

It really was an amazing turn around in a short space of time. Suddenly everything clicked and the finishing was razor sharp. Literally raining goals, given the unrelenting weather conditions.

Very poetic and evocative,  PTD. Brings back memories of many a day in the 1970's- though perhaps not the positive result!!  🙄
