Nobody else is close, and we appear pretty much out of it. Even if those three draws were wins, we'd still be trailing Stenny. Even at this early stage there will need to be big changes in the fortunes of both them and us for us to even hope to win the title. If we don't, and it's the play-offs again.... I almost can't bear to even think about it. We'll never beat the VAR maffia.. Worth considering that last season after St J had played 8 games, they were 8 points ahead of 2nd place..We were 9 behind but had played 2 games less. By the time we had made up the games, we were level with St J. It is obviously a bit different this season as we aren’t scoring regularly enough at the moment.
JeanieD
Stenhousemuir could do a Leicester - which (setting our own self-interest aside) might actually be a good thing - after all are we not, by our definition, always rooting for the underdog? jagfox
Still a lot of points to play for in terms of the top of the table but I think most will agree Stenhousemuir have done well enough to stay well clear of relegation which would have been their main target this season. Their start has been exceptional though and 7 wins on the trot is championship winning form but there may be a few turns and forks in the road yet. They are a tough nay horrible team to play against but they deserve to be where they are. Makes the points we have dropped so far harder to stomach. dl1971
Well done to Stenny on their great start. I think you will find that the other teams will figure out their tactics in the next round of games. Impossible to say where they ( or us ) will end up, but usually at the half way point in the season we will know who is challenging and who is not. If we continue to dominate the games we will win far more than we will lose.

elevenone
Whilst on Stenny, I see they signed a season long loan young striker on Friday with 25 goals in 60 odd games in Welsh league with some Europa league experience. A moot point though given we are not looking for a striker.

thornwoodjag
If you believe Stenny will go on and win the league, get yourself down to the bookies and take the 3/1 on offer.

eljaggo
I'm sure there was a doctor who played part-time for Hearts(?) very successfuly some years ago. There must be part-time players around who could make a useful contribution. Has this been considered by the Club?

Mostly famed for scoring a barrowload for Gretna (inc against us) whilst part time as was a doctor.

Then moved to Gretna. 63 goals in 93 league games there, including lots against us. Known as "Doctor Goals" or "the Good Doctor". Now that we have diagnosed the problem, can someone write a prescription for the solution?
The Legend Blows
I'm looking forward to next May when the clowns in charge announce a major financial boost with the agreement to ground share with Stenhousemuir. Maybe we'll use the money to fund a striker or even take some Stenny fringe players on loan that they don't need for their Premiership campaign. I wondered about where Stenny would play if they got promoted. The nearest "suitable" ground would be Falkirk's. Broadwood might be an option. They are over-achieving full time teams like us Most Sportspeople are not full time - simply because there Sports don't attract cash - however it doesn't stop those in it from competing at an International level and achieving success. Its about attitude and discipline - whilst Stenny Players train with the Club twice a week - there players will be training on there own the other days. there fitness levels match ours there is nothing to suggest that they cannot maintain there form throughout the Season due to being part time Apart from a couple of Players our 71 Squad was Part Time A lot of Clubs struggling to break even in the Championship will be asking fundamental questions if Stenny Win the league
