eljaggo Posted August 9 Report Share Posted August 9 Maxwell & Co are about to select our new Scotland manager. Given the fiasco with Celtic and other issues at the end of the season, I don't expect an enlightened choice. I would like to see a young foreign manager appointed who would develop our younger players and not pay too much attention to the short term results. Fat chance. Appointing Naismith would be the nearest to accepting the continuation of Clarke in charge. I'd be very disappointed if the former manager of Belgium & Portugal wasn't strongly opinionated but yes, that's not the SFA way. I'm hoping with his connection to Scotland that Martinez may accept terms below his expectation. I firmly expect the SFA to either appoint an ex-player (Naismith, Fletcher etc) or looks lazily at international managers and think someone like Martinez must be good because he's managed Belgium and Portugal rather than go and do the hard work of trying to find someone that would improve us even if they are not a recognised name.
