He's not but there's no way after talks I believe we would come close to what he was wanting financially. With no scottish managers even being remotely good enough for the position with the exception of Moyes who said he wasn't interested at this time then I think irs a bold exciting appointment that is the polar opposite from Clarke and he'll have no ties to any existing players. Lambies Lost Doo Posted August 16 Report Share Posted August 16 I know the WC was disappointing but Steve Clarke gave me some amazing games at Hampden which I will genuinely treasure with peak being Denmark which was genuinely one of the best experiences of my life. He gets my backing, but there will be high expectations after Clarke. Need a root and branch clearout and a focus on young players - the old guard cannot expect to make such catastrophic mistakes and expect to survive. He would have been a brilliant appointment, and I would imagine would have been first choice if he had been in a position to accept the job. My hunch would be that Hjulmand is still on "gardening leave" or similar from his previous job at Leverkusen which prevents him from working unless a termination was agreed - given the difference in resources I suspect he would lose a substantial sum of money if that was the case were he to take the Scotland job.
