There isn't another scenario ~ the process is the same for every Club - I've neither commented positively nor negatively on the situation

Regards Diak ~ again I've neither commented positively or negatively  ~ nor passed opinion on if he was Good enough - nor the requirement to get a wage off the books.

all of these things are the decisions of the Sporting Director who balances the Football Budget & is responsible for Recruitment  - that's why he is there

Sorry, but I do not believe for 1 second that the process is the same for every club.

Ok - I will qualify it - every club who of our size and larger

as for believing - our sporting director stated publicly squad planning took place before the play offs ( actual player targets are identified long before that)

so if we had planned to have a new striker then that was done early may ( at least)

I still don’t believe that, and also don’t believe that you know that as a fact.

We also don’t know that there wasn’t a plan to bring a striker, and something went wrong.

What you say may or may not be true, but we cannot possibly know for sure what went on behind closed doors.

There must be a striker who is looking for get playing time till Jan and a free agent.....

Or are we so skint that we can't try that ?

No real sign of change with the  lack of goals .....

Can't wait for this till January

This lull cld cost us the league

Look......the issue I have is the fact that we have dried up on goals.

Who's at fault isn't an issue.

The fact that 'management' have commented on it and are asking for time and understanding isn't the issue for me ..... It the effect this might have on our league position at the end of the season is a worry !

Also how much time do we need to give before something is done?

He stated publicly that the Plans for Recruitment were in place before the Play Offs

that means the discussions on what was needed took place  before that - and a list is drawn up of potential signing targets - there would be 3/4 options for the agreed positions

Sp from around Easter the plans were being worked on - that's by the Sporting Directors own statements - No Club goes with one target for a position - for precisely the reason you stated - it can fall through - so you have a Plan B & Plan C on signing targets

If we had stated circa Easter we needed a Striker - we would have signed one - no one waits till near the Close of the Window to Sign a Striker - that's just not a realistic scenario

So the Coaches + Sporting Director decided we didn't need one - no other scenario makes sense

Oh yes they do, just ask any Celtic fan 😆

Tbf the Celtic scenario is totally different as most of the time for clubs such as these it depends on what European competition they are in. Champions league striker A Europa league Striker B Conference League c-z 🤔🤔

Partick Thistle knew what league they would be playing in and probably knew what type of striker they needed. There is a thought process that the present management believed that the system that had worked so well last season would work well this season hence budget spent on midfield and wide options. Unfortunately up to this point the system is struggling to find goals and I think a large part of that is that teams have us sussed especially playing the majority of games the same way as we played last season🤔 This is now the reason why an out and out striker would give you different options to play during the season.

We also need to consider the Ben Stanway situation. We would need to have set aside budget for his wages, incase he signed, or withdraw the offer and let him sign for a competitor for free. Had he left it would have released a wage and generated income which would have changed the playing budget available. (Unless you propose overspending the budget 😀).

Until that was known we had to prioritise the players we could sign, and based on last season, a striker was not the priority, based on the goals scored be (Samuel, Watt and Stanway … if he signed). It is perfectly plausible that the management team had identified striker options, but signing a striker was not seen as a priority over other positions. However that scenario wouldn’t fit with your agenda to diss everything the club management does.

We can all agree that the form of Samuel and Watt, along with a goal shy midfield has created a problem, but saying that specific people are to blame, without any evidence to support it, is not helpful.

Where have i "dissed " anyone ~ I've stated that as the Planning for the Squad starts Months before the Window Opens-  then if we were going to sign a Striker then it would be planned with multiple options - the conclusion ( as I've stated ) is that we decided not to sign a Striker ~ if we were going to~ the Stanway position didn't impact as it was already factored into the overall budget  - I have not blamed "specific people" you are making stuff up

The decision not to add an additional Striker to the Squad would be done by the Sporting Director & the Coaching Staff ( and advised to the Board ).

The Sporting Director has his list - gives it to the Recruitment Director - they put names to the Coach for final approval

There is no pontification - our Sporting Director - Recruitment Director - Coach & Board use the same process as every other Club

And as we have a Sporting Director & a Recruitment Director - unlike other Championship Clubs ( who rely on there Manager ) we have the resource to be working on this process Full Time throughout the Season ~ and the Coach deals solely with the Squad Performance

Looks to me like you have decided on who to blame, and can’t accept that there might have been other factors at play.
