If we could play tomorrow with speed and directness that Wales showed against Norway, I'd be a happy man.

If we could play with the speed and directness that Norn Irn showed against Ukraine....Β πŸ˜‰

A pleasingly comfortable win with pretty decent performances from everyone. A much better balance in midfield - Dempsey kept play moving, Smyth had his best game of the season and I was delighted for Ben Stanway with two good goals. We had more variety rather than just trying to fire crosses across the goal and set up several shooting chances for midfielders.

Arbroath are usually a dour side with a stuffy defence...they actually stretched our defence early in the game but ended well beaten and could have conceded a few more. This League is there to be won...I'm assuming Stenny will fall away and expect Dunfermline and maybe Raith to be our main challengers but this season is as good a chance as we are likely to get.

I thought that was our most complete performance of the season.

Shape was excellent and every player played well. Stanway showed what can happen when you have a pop at goal! He looked much sharper, pleased for him. I thought Smyth and Dempsey next to him were great, Smyth was a huge improvement with his runs ahead of the ball, the second goal coming down to one of them.Β
Β

Our full backs are so consistent, Reading never drops below a 7/10 every week.Β
Β

Samuel needs a goal, one like Watt got to give him a lift. The work rate is there but he’s becoming increasingly desperate in front of goal!Β
Β

arbroath keeper played well, kept the score down.Β
Β

Some of the link up play today was excellent and the work rate of the team is really pleasing to see. They have set a new standard, now they need to keep it up.Β

I'm not sure I remember Thistle dominating a Championship game to that extent. Not saying it was best ever performance (but it was good) but what I thought was really notable was how comfortable we looked whenever Arbroath tried to break. They were getting absolutely nowhere.

Is that now the unbeaten home record?

Imo we dominated Queens park more. Big difference today was we had more shots and clinical with our finishing.

Yes we are now 24 home league games unbeaten.

Beating the Pars 4-1 during our Season 2012-13 was a highlight for me

Pretty sure it was 5-1

edit: it was. Lawless (2), Balatoni, O’Donnell, Forbes.

O’Donnell was arguably the best goal ever at Firhill.

3870 thistle fans with a load over in North Macedonia. Not too shabbyΒ

Seemed to be a lot more children at the game today than normal (which is a good thing), not sure if this was something the club had worked on specifically or as a result of no premiership games being on.

The other massive difference was today there wasn't always 11 opposition players behind the ball ......

For me the biggest change that helped us score was we were pressing a lot more and being more assertive on the front foot particularly in the last 1/3

Thanks - yeah I tried 2 different browsers and 3 different devices. Resetting my password (twice!) emailing media team (3 times) calling Firhill (voicemail) and even a Fb message (no reply). Eventually, I hit subscribe, paid for a monthly subscription (on top of the annual one I have, which worked fine last week) and could add the game. By then of course it was the 25th minute. And of course there was no replay of the first 2 goals at HT or FT. Sigh. I’ll wait and see if the β€œmedia team” respond and refund me my money for the monthly subscription.Β
Β

still - 3 goals and 3 points!! Hurrah!!

Not sure this will help but mentioning it just in case…..I’ve logged into the tv.ptfc.co.uk site before, clicked Shop, and then was brought to the ordering page. Β But instead of β€œadd to basket” (which is what I’d expect to see, given my annual subscription), I sometimes see β€œsubscribe”.

Refreshing the page generally fixes the issue.

The club were definitely dishing them out to schools. I was offered a few via a friend in the profession.

Just watched the goals back and the video was very poor quality and the action seemed to be jumpy and at an odd playback speed.

By comparison I also watched the Clyde highlights (free on YouTube) and they were far better quality and free to fans. Not sure how a club way down the divisions can offer a far more professional looking product and with no charge.

They also got thumped 6-2 which was mildly amusing...

I watched both the Morton v Raith game and Livi v Ayr United game this morning after catching our highlights on Jagzone and was thinking just that about the quality. It's really not great, and is made even worse by the fact there is a charge.

While mentioning goals and general outfield play, nobody seems to have pointed to the admirable distribution of Budinauckas, which started off all the moves forward. Perhaps it's too easy to overlook the contribution of the goalkeeper to getting the ball up the park, but his efforts were important too, quite apart from being a safe pair of hands between the sticks.

The image quality is superior to ours at just about any other club's tv; even those in lower divisions put our current set-up to shame.

Agreed. He tried to get things moving quickly most of the time. But in the second half, when the game was starting to peter out, there were spells of side to side and back-to-you stuff going on that seems pointless. On one occassion I counted five back and forth passes directly between Bud and one of the defenders, for no real reason..

I also had the thought that, at times, he was far more keen to get play going than some of his outfield team-mates. Maybe they're too used to McFarlane holding play up?

The quality of live stream from Jagszone has been poor for a few seasons which is a shame as comms team are decent. I actually stopped my monthly subscription as I’m fed up with itΒ
