McKennan
The man at the Evening Times is big on our boiler room at the moment. I'm hoping we sign another tough-as-teak stopper. Does anyone else have their favourite Bertisms?
The Earl of Hathaway
The references to 'Firhill buzz-bomb, Liam Buchanan' - only Bert....
jags on tour
The references to 'Firhill buzz-bomb, Liam Buchanan' - only Bert.... lol thats what I was thinking of today, what the fcuk is a buzz bomb? when he refers to McCall as 'corky' does ma heid in. another thing I hate is when people describe a young 'keeper as 'kid gloves'
Collins Out!
I came into this thread eager to use "tough-as-teak" and there it is in the first post.
JobbyMahoney
No more pint sized hitmen please, beanpole striker instead. Maybe a wing king required though.
lady-isobel-barnett
I seem to mind Doolan when he was lent out to Clyde being called a Loan Gun.
McKennan
He has an eye for aces and the supremo, does Bert. However, he really set the bar with 'young keeping pups' a couple of weeks ago.
Mr Kipling
Bert does my head in with his tired cliches or made up nonsense football words. I believe he has also referred to Liam as a 'Pocket Rocket'. WTF??? Corky for McCall also does my nut in. However his referral to the midfield as the 'Boiler Room' drives me insane. Whenever there is a piece on a midfielder, you know he's going to use that one. Still read his article every day tho!
lady-isobel-barnett
I'm waiting for Corky to be compared to the tight-lipped, ashen-faced Neasden manager, Ron Knee.

lady-isobel-barnett
Not a Bertism, though I wouldn't be surprised if he's used it, but the Glaswegian reporter describes our very own Paul Paton as "the flying full-back". Paul then mentions that his arm has now healed.
Windcalmer
I see from yesterday's piece of journalistic wonderment that he describes Thistle's forthcoming season as our 'annual slog'. McKennan
Well, sad to say a season at Thistle is not a Med cruise full of curvy redheads, brunettes and peaches and cream for breakfast.

McKennan
Wow! Manager McCall has been given a huge lift. The renovation of the main stand has started already. I see the Herald and Times policy of dropping sports photographers and relying on SNS is going great guns - that picture of Ian is ancient.
