I have been an advocate of the popular view, 3rd division.

However, I now believe that the SPL should be left to it and the SFL should breakaway and rip up the settlement agreement.

I think that we should abandon promotion to SPL and call the winners of the first division champions of scotland, even without European representation.

Leave this disgraceful group of commercialists to it and watch their greedy dream die.

So for me Rangers stay in SPL and they can deal with the fallout that will bring to each of their clubs, and the SPL can GTF!

Just in case it gets deleted from that site, I quote this:

The Cheats Charter.

Neil Doncaster : Chief Executive of the SPL: Architect of plan Save Rangers. Claimed that RFC(In Liquidation) would not be liquidated. Stated that there was no perceivable difference between a club being liquidated, and one which agreed a CVA. Claimed that a share in the SPL could be 'transferred', despite there being no rule which permit such.

Stewart Regan: Cheif Executive of the SFA. The SFA have put their name to this proposal, and the chief executive must take the blame for it. He has put his name to a proposal which blatantly states that one club will not have to abide by the rules every other club does, one club will be given extra money, which no other club will, and that one club will openly be permitted to break every rule which is currently in place. Stewart Regan can no longer be viewed as being impartial. He is now part of the group which wishes to carve up Scottish football for the benefit of one club.

David Longmuir: Cheif Executive of the SFL. Has yet to come out and support fairness in football, and has hinted that he may be willing to shadt 20 clubs which he purports to represent, in order to save one club which is not even a member of his organisation.

Campbell Oglivie: President of the SFA. EBT recipient. General Secretary of Rangers FC (In Liquidation) at the time they were using EBTs. Head of the organisation charged with investigating EBTs.

Jim Ballantyne: SFL President. Chairman of Airdrie United. Most recently seen at the Linfield v Rangers FC (In Liquidation) game, wearing a Rangers Fighting Fund badge.

Donald Findlay: Chairman of Cowdenbeath FC. Resigned from Rangers FC after coming to public attention for singing songs which were allegedly sectarian in content.

How many votes are necessary to block the NewCo Rangers' attempt to get into the SFL1?

I think that all SFL3 clubs will vote no, because they would be happy to play Rangers at their homes.

I am not sure about the SFL2 and SFL1 clubs.

Like so much of this saga, it depends on who you ask.The rules it appears can be interpreted in different ways. If this is considered a minor decision then it is 66%. (ie 11 NO votes needed to block) If this a major decision then it is 25% (ie 8 NO votes needed to block).

So, is this a major or a minor decision ?

From SFL rules -

74. ALTERATION OF RULES

These Rules may be altered or augmented by the Members in general

meeting of which notice of amendment has been duly given provided that

not less than two-thirds (66%) of Members shall vote in favour of the

resolution for amendment.

75. ENHANCED MAJORITY REQUIREMENT

Rule 74 is without prejudice to the requirements of Rules 42, 57, 58, 77

and 82 amendment of which shall require the support of seventy five

per cent (75%) of the Members.

76. MAJORITY REQUIREMENT TO AMEND MAJORITY REQUIREMENTS

Any resolution to alter the requisite majority to carry a resolution to amend

the required majority to alter a Rule shall itself require a seventy five per cent

(75%) majority of the Members.

it was 50% vote to let Annan in - but i reckon this is deemed a major decision and would require 75% approval as detailed - although I'm sure they don't have a clue at Hampden how to interpret the rules and will therefore spend the next week or 2 trying to bend the rules towards the 50% option

i also hope longmuir gets his head ripped off at tuesdays meeting but you have to wonder around the country which chairmen will be getting new holiday homes in greece or brown envelopes stuffed with cash.

as far as i understand it's only 5 against, 1 swithering (us) and 1 yes (donald findlay fc/cowdenbeath) ... what about the other 23?

I understand it's 23 votes but possibly less if there's abstentions where the requirement for approval is 75%.

My fear is the 2nd & 3rd Div clubs may be getting pressurised into a yes vote. On face value they'd be daft to turn up the opportunity of revenue from newco visits but they might be getting fed a mixture of disinformation re policing costs and minimum ground requirement, H & S issues etc. I'm no doubt being a tad paranoid but you've got think that SFA/SPL/SFL would know how very low their chances of this getting approval is and that leads me to feel there might be something up their sleeve.

Raith, Falkirk, Dunfermline, Hamilton, Morton, Clyde, Montrose, Annan and Peterhead have all said NO that I know of,

Livvy are with us in the not decided but under presure from fans

Dundee are a probable YES as they have most to gain by getting promoted.

Dundee would be getting promoted either way.

My hearts says termination, my head says suspension. So many writs about to fly, so many collars about to be felt by the polis. If 'they' are let in at any level of Scottish fitba now then further chaos and problems will ensue.

I've said this myself several times (though not as succinctlyas this, do we have a 'like' feature?)

This is what gets me about all this ...these guys are trying to force Newco on us when it's liable to be more of a disaster than a cash cow.

Edit: This should all have been dealt with weeks ago but I guess they waited, hoping the less time left the more we all might have been panicked into going along with whatever crap they thought up.

One thing for sure, we now know our football authorities (all 3) need a clear out from top to bottom.

So, with Ballantyne and Findlay at their helms, we know how Airdrie and Cowdenbeath would vote then. Imagine Clyde being a positive force for once... How I wish we would stand up to be counted. What's the phrase, something like bad things happen because good people do nothing? None so blind as those who will not see.

The irony there being that those two clubs have most to gain by voting against newco. Obviously Airdrie get promoted but also Cowden's chances of staying up would be greatly enhanced if Airdrie were in the same league.
