avie-man
Its not even August and already we have went to the biggest tabloid in the country claiming we need more fans to come forward to sponsor the player's shirts - Filed under the Daily Record's Soccer Shorts section. Its time the club cleared the picture full-stop. Forget all these smoke-screens and bull shit press, what is the bottom line? We can't sign one single player due to the clubs finances, we're already scrapping the barrell with the player sponsorship and a ball hasn't been kicked. How about one of the Club's hierarchy cut the crap once and for all and tell us what the BoD's plans are to stabilise the club finances and help put a competitive team out the park for the next 5-10 years and beyond. How about some re-assurance for the fans who dip their money and their hearts into the club year in and out. How about the fans are told in no un-certain terms the impact that the debt will have on the club today and in the future years, none of this "ooh money is tight, but we're confident we can provide Ian/Manager X with a competitive budget". Maybe these guys could also tell us what they offer PTFC as individuals.
Tom Stronach
Excellent post. I've never seen so much widespread anger and apathy on a Thistle forum before. Something has to happen.

Certainly not money or expertise. (I hasten to exclude Jim Alexander from this as I know he makes a sizeable contribution by way of commitment, time initiative and expertise). You've obviously not been on Jags forums for very long! The club's a mess. It's been a mess for years and it's not gonna change until the current incumbents pack up and gettae. Is it maybe not the case that some lazy journo type has been merely trawling clubs websites for any kind of footy related news???
McKennan
Why is that lazy journalism? That's out looking for 'stories', is it not? Back on topic.
1 John Lambie
Jeezo, it was a simple small advert saying that there are still some players left to be sponsored, hardly a big deal. It may just attract a small business to sponsor a player. I see Man Utd are advertising their strip for sale in today's paper, didn't realise they were that skint & desperate..! 1 John Lambie
Do you only look at the pictures in the newspaper? Man U are skint. In major debt? Yes. Skint? No. Sadly, we are both, because of turnover & such like. Edited July 18, 2010 by 1 John Lambie
