  1. I don't think Jackie is 1 game away from the sack, but if we lose on Tuesday he will be up shit creek. Surely the board are considering contingencies.

I listened to 10 minutes of jagscast a while back and it wasn't for me. Not trying to be a dick but it sounded like a rabble at a 16 year old birthday party. Well done on the 2000 downloads - Hopefully it evolved from when I last heard it.

  2. Lenny - I try to avoid your posts but felt like you were particulary stupid in this one and I couldn't resist. I try to avoid your posts after reading your pathetic greeting session about the big boys shouting at you at one of the away games.

Grow some baws mate and stop filling interesting threads full of your p*sh chat.

  3. Uberteeb you are entitled to you opinion and I understand your frustrations.

I rarely post on here but felt compelled to after reading this.

I think I got my point across.

Lenny. When I see your name on the threads I skim past it. You try to say a lot but end up with very little substance. Just because you are bashing away at the keyboard doesn’t mean people are going to read it time and time again.

  4. I'd just like to acknowledge you guys' efforts. Very much appreciated.

    + 1

A few old characters from the .net days are still posted missing, maybe never to return, but I feel that's more down to what's not happening on the park at the moment. Keep up the good work - cracking site.

    1) Andy Murdoch

Bought my old man and I a pint on Byres Rd when I was underage. “Hash smoking polis, oh he’s a hash smoking polis…”

    2) Andy Wilkinson

Pished beside him in the porta-cabin toilest at Dingwall, he jumped over for a slash with Madaschi while they were warming up. Top bloke, committed to the cause.

    3) Grant Tierney

    Machine. Legend.

    Subs:

Stephen Craigan - Future manager for sure

    Martin Hardie - Super-sub

James Grady - Forever a danger in the penalty box

Gerry Britton - Scored the best goal I’ve ever seen Thistle score

Kenny Arthur - Not the most gifted but definitely the most committed number 1

  6. Some amount of fking knbs on this forum , he said a certain manager never liked him from day 1, that a premiership club wanted him down for a trial and look round with a healthy fee if it went well , they were told if you want him buy him , was advised to find another club so went to germany , german club wanted to have him but were asked for a transfer fee for a player that wasn't wanted , only spoke about football not his personel life , hope that satisfies the west end wah hoos

The manager probably didn't like him because he had a pish attitude. He was given chance after chance at Firhill and was ultimately a waste of a wage.

I'm just surprised any Thistle fan would stand there and listen to him spout this pish without smacking him around the ear.

  7. Not wanting to hijack a thread, but I'm just wondering why the decision was made to kill the image linking part of the forum?

I use one other non-football related forum where it works well. I think a picture can potentially say a thousand words.

If it’s a money thing, or maybe a component of the forum you don’t want to pay for then I think it would be worth chipping in for. Maybe even trial it – give it a few weeks in the general forum to see how it pans out?

  8. Said hello to Jim Slavin the other day. He surprised me; turned out is wisnae him.

    :lol::clapping:

Forget your puns - that was funny.

Adam Strachan - can't believe he isn't deid/ in jail or on the run somewhere.

    Wiki has:

He was a product of the Partick Thistle youth system, having being signed from Partick Thistle Boys Club. He was thought to have a huge future ahead of him but never really fulfilled his early promise. In season 2006–07 he was a key player but the following season because of Stevie Murray he did not feature in the team regularly and was never a first pick under Ian McCall.

    Here was me thinking

    1) He wasn't good enough

    2) He drank too much buckfast

    3) He started fights with team mates - including the club captain at the time

    4) He really just wasn't good enough

But apparently Stevie Murray has a lot to answer for. :unknw:

  9. Thanks guys. Interesting response from what I guessed to be a very mixed demographic.

The most liberal of us all being shaken up by Right wing dutchies, with some apparent consequences.

The new right-wing government that came to power in October 2010 is currently cracking down hard on ‘coffee shops’ and says it wants them to become members-only clubs with a pass system for local Dutch people in order to stop drugs tourism. The government wants to introduce the cannabis passes nationwide and plans to fast track the system in the south of the country following a recent string of drug-related violence.

Coffee shops have become a popular tourist attraction, particularly in Amsterdam and border towns such as Maastricht. In December 2010, the European Court of Justice ruled that the Maastricht city council is not breaking European law by attempting to stop non-residents buying soft drugs in the city's cannabis cafes. The court ruled that restricting sales is 'justified by the objective of combating drug tourism' and reducing public nuisance. The aim of the restriction is to maintain public order and protect public health.

However, the city councils of Eindhoven, Den Bosch and Maastricht have already voted against the plan to introduce cannabis passes and the four big cities of Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht have also pledged to campaign against it. Many experts say the government's plans to introduce passes for coffee shops to keep out tourists will encourage illegal street dealing again.

The "No brainer" touched on in a Guardian article

Politicians say they fear drug use would rise if prohibition is lifted. Evidence from abroad shows they are wrong. Look at Scandinavia, where the tough Swedes and more liberal Norwegians have similar addiction rates. Or Switzerland, where heroin demand and crime fell sharply following new policies based on public health rather than legality. Or Portugal, where heroin use fell by half after decriminalisation.

Putting the dealers and cartels out of business would be ideal, but surely the common goal here is harm minimisation?

I'd like to see this Global Commission on Drug Policy taken seriously but alas there is some way to go.

Perhaps if more of these "stupid" people who have taken drugs through choice were to get involved

  10. Are you for or against changing drug prohibition laws in the UK?

I can't see any major changes in my lifetime, but it got me thinking after reading a Christopher Hitchens interview.

Understandably it crosses some boundaries with people but I'm genuinely interested to hear your opinion.

    Cheers.

    *Edited because spelling is atrocious.

  11. Fishul site

Seems we have given in to losing Boyle.

Well done to the official site putting this together in an article. They didn't have to, but it's a decent summary and a good attempt at letting us know whats going on.

Still waiting on the previously mentioned "off field" developments to be announced, which I'm guessing are sponsorship and kit related.

  12. Totally agree about Hodge, who seemed like a slightly more silky Darren Brady.

I'd rather see one of our younger boys get a shot in midfield.

Who knows, maybe even Cairney will get his act together and cut down on the Guinness.
