  1. There was a game v Celtic I’m sure he was getting treatment off the park then the ref took an age (good few minutes) to allow him back on but folk were going mental at the situation of him just standing there.

Would be amazed at folk abusing players that bad in games we never won and as a collective were usually terrible anyway.

  2. The January window was a complete farce. Only an idiot with zero football experience would expect about four players who have been out about 12 weeks to instantly come back firing on all cylinders. The fact he’s an ex player makes his decision to only sign a centre half to replace one who’s loan ended even more bonkers.

Come on, surely a players Xmas night out shouldn't go ahead ONLY in the event of winning the preceding game? The Hearts situation was somewhat different in that they were totally embarrassed and humiliated and it would've been plain wrong for the players to be seen to 'recover' from that in time to go partying. Thistle competed reasonably well in a game played in horrendous conditions and came away with a point.

The fact you don’t find drawing at home to Alloa after leading twice embarrassing sums us up right now.

For clarity they should never have had a public night out.

In the past and this season , teams who weren't doing well have cancelled their X mas parties.

Yeah was slightly annoyed watching videos of them pished after drawing 2-2 at home to alloa.

  5. 100% sackable. The guy sold himself on his ability to improve the squad, now maybe he’s bit off more than he can chew but if I got a job based on apparently what he did after 4 games of sheer embarrassment I’d worry myself

I really don't agree with this. When played in his correct position I think Christie Elliott has become a very good player.

What a bonkers reply. His correct position as a converted right back as he’s proven he’s mince everywhere else?

I would love to see Bannigan back. If there was such a thing as a thistle way of playing, I think it was built around him. His injury may well have been when we lost that.

Think of  Ryan Edwards attempt at replacing Bannigan and you really appreciate how good he was pre injury.

  8. Its not like we were unlucky to go down,we were a disgrace from day one last season and he never learned. I just cant see how in a few weeks he will suddenly.

    1. Be able to coach a defence into some resemblence of one.

    2. Not be utterly tactically nieve.

    3. Recruit better than last seasons faillings.

    4. Improve overall fitness in a squad that dies on its arse around 65mins in games.

    5. Not stand by players who continually let him down (and refuse point blank in Penrice case to give him a chance)

I could actually list more but there really isnt much point, everyones aware of these.

i would have some sympathy for this view if there was any evidence that Archie has learned anything this season that means he will improve his performance....as of now that is not evident

also he talks about the team and games as though he wasn't the manager (!) and in charge of what they do and how they do it..... i genuinely don't thin k he knows what to do

Talking like he isnt the manager is something that kills me about him, baffling choice of phrases used at times.

I'm going to be controversial and put Erskine and Doolan in the maybe category. I'm not questioning their ability and their commitment, my problem is with their ability to play for a full 90 minutes. It is rare for either of them to start and finish a game, so if we start them both, we know that 2 substitutions are used up, which leaves few options to change the formation. If we pick up a couple of knocks elsewhere and they do need to play for 90 minutes, we have 2 players who are dead on their legs. It maybe that they are carrying knocks this year, or it maybe that the fitness training is a problem and it is possible that the pacein the Championship might help them (Livi didn't suggest that), but I think that they are probably now best as impact players which is why I have them as maybes

I'd keep Doolan but I 100% agree re Erskine, absolutely done and has had a shocker of a season bar looking like he cared since the split, same would go for Lawless to be honest, his best spell came playing as a left wing back.

Barton at centre half yesterday was actually pretty good. Which begs the question of why did Archie not put Barton there a few weeks ago rather than Devine?

I would assume that Archie lost the dressing room in  February as from that point on he started to not use certain players. Looks like the return of the injured players in January was more of a problem than a help because he couldn't find a way of keeping them all happy. Clearly Dumbaya didn't like being on the bench, Storey looked unhappy at getting left on the bench in favour of an on-loan signing, Penrice couldn't have been happy watching Elliot, Osman couldn't have enjoyed watching Edwards, McCarthy, Woods and Barton being preffered to him.

Penrice one for me is the most bizzare of them all, would love to know why he had zero confidence in the guy.
