  1. I really don't like the fact that Board have hived our assets off to Propco even although it helped the club financially at the time. They could have asked the fans for investment if it was really necessary. I completely agree with ScottyDFA - that its a football ground...OUR football ground. Does anyone know what cash was raised and could a fan group buy it back? I'm a second generation fan with many more to follow me after I'm long gone and I for one would like to think that this would be at Firhill in all its football glory.

  2. Pigeon shit that is! First time in ages in the Northy last night and sat in the area near the JH. The place was covered in Pigeon shit....suggest the Stadium Manager has a look and come up with a solution to this problem. Similar could be said about the state of repair of the façade on the EMS.  Poor or no maintenance will ultimately cost the club much more money to rectify.

  3. He has not kicked a ball for for us in over 18 months except into the face of a female at porkheid 2 weeks ago . If anybody was going to leave in January I would have thought that he would have been top of the list....why oh why....

Maybe there are some commercial aspects attached to this one. For me it is a sure sign of weak management (including the Board) as he had used up all his chances and his actions at Parkhead were a sure sign of disrespect to the club and its fans. Indiscipline rewarded. Unbelievable !!

  4. From now on Barton must play at the back with Devine the bomb scare being dropped no matter who we have available for midfield...it reminds me of when we played Mcginn at left back and he was mince so got moved back to the right as it's his best position...I don't for one minute accept that Barton needs to play midfield for any reason as he's mince so anyone available would be just as good or perhaps better.

Playing Barton in midfield causes goals

Playing Devine in defence causes goals

    ITS A NO BRAINER ARCHIE

    I totally agree!
  5. Barton motm at Libero. He’s been abysmal in midfield. He was the only one with a bit of football.

I therefore don’t want to see him playing anywhere but Libero. Drop Devine.

Can’t fault the boys for effort and matched Accies’ desire. Thought Doolan and Spittal should’ve been off earlier. But he knew Woods would need replaced. He looks a very important signing.

Well done to Storey who sidestepped moronic no. 89 at the end.

I know McKinnon’s just a crap Scott Brown and a bit of a ned. But I thought he was terrific and we could do with someone like that.

Agree with everything 100% apart from Libero...I still like sweeper!

  6. My intuition tells me Norge is right about Muzzy.

But I think Fraser will stay with us.

If Fraser stays at the club after last nights disgraceful episode, I may as well put my season ticket in the drawer as "We are no longer Thistle"

  7. My son pointed Fraser out in the warm up. he felt the player was trying to hit fans behind the goal as he blasted the ball into the crowd on 2 occasions. I had left the game by the time Fraser came on, and I’ve read Archie say he is not a malicious type of player, but I think the club should look a little closer at the player’s behaviour. If an opposing player had tried that...

If he was trying to hit the hoarding and missed...get him shipped out.

If he was trying to hit the crowd...get him shipped out.

    Embarrassing behaviour......taxi for Fraser!

  8. You can run around and panic if you like joekea, but I won't be holding you pishy pants. We've been in the same position the last few seasons (i.e. 3 points or thereby into late Ocober/November) and look what's happened then. Fair enough if we're in the same position after 16-20 games then there needs to be a re-evaluation but I think there is no way on this Earth that we're an 11th or 12th place team the way we can play - at some point this season it will really start to click and other teams will be wearing your pish stained drawers.

Yes you were right! We won't be 11th or 12th place team.....we are a definite 12th! Its time now for YOU to start wetting the pants that you borrowed from your wife. Di@k!

  9. Okay so I went to the pub after the game but I cannot settle and look forward to the normal "well there's always next week" which is my norm .....so I have to have a rant!

Today was unacceptable....the manager, the team and the board must look at this result and the performance and decide how we progress after the international break. Whatever direction we take I will always be there, be it in the SPL or in the 1st division but at least don't pretend we have no problem with what is on display.

Its time to make some changes or we will just have more of the same. Its time to step up and change the team or be honest and admit that our aspiration is the play offs if we can even manage that! Totally unacceptable!

  10. I think you have summed up the entire situation very well. It is a general decline all round sorry to say! I believe the fans had and have a big part to play turning this around and so does the club...what we need is some honesty from both sides in order to solve the problem before its too late and I don't mean just staying in the SPL.

  11. Being a bit bored with what was on offer on Saturday, I turned my attention to the floodlights as it was a bit gloomy all round.

I noticed that at least 15 of the lights were out on the two towers....as seen from the JHS.

Things must be bad financially when we can't replace blown bulbs!!

  12. Just in case someone in the senior management team just happens to read this topic........we (smokers) don't need the club to spend any money on a shelter..we only ask to be allowed to go outside (half-time only if it helps the Smoking Police) and have a quick smoke...rain, hail or shine!

  13. I wish you would read the post before commenting....I advocated using an outside area, away from kids and controlled by stewards. I even addressed the 2 hour time scale !! The only healthy part of going to the game is the walk up the hill. Its entertainment after all and we sit on our bums for two hours and eat a mutton pie if there are any left!

  14. It would seem that a degree of apathy has set in at Firhill as evidenced by the dwindling home support. There have been many suggestions on how get the crowd engaged once again and one possible solution that could help would be to introduce an external smoking area for the those supporters who would like a puff at half-time. There area number of Premier clubs that allow you to go outside at half-time for a nicotine hit e.g. Motherwell, Hearts, Killie etc. This could be easily controlled by the Stewards, as it is at other grounds, and the kids could be kept away from this area in order to prevent any bad influence issues.

I know a number of fans who now stay away for the majority of the games due to the restriction, preferring to do other things that are no so restrictive i.e. the pub as at least you can go out for a smoke as and when the urge takes you. I know non-smokers are of the opinion that ....."surely you can last 90 minutes without one" ....but its not as simple as that - some fans may have had a couple of beers before the game (has an effect on need!) and others like to come into the stadium earlier to soak in the atmosphere (or what once was an atmosphere!). Just a thought.

  15. I for one would support the idea that the fans buy it back and build our own stand (similar to the North Stand) either seated or safe standing.

Support also means cash contribution....but if we were able to raise funds the club would need to contribute to the building costs also.

My worry is that they feel the will get a better ROI when a developer buys the land.

  16. Thought I'd post some of the financials on the above company SC353372........somewhere in the background there is a reason for this NS debacle........let me think.....the Asset value possibly?????
