Difficult decision for the ref to make. Did the other player, play the man or the ball?
-
The wind is going to kill this game. Went out for a kick about with my son and the ball was literally blowing away. We don't cope well with "unsuitable" conditions and QOS will be firing the high crosses into us, knowing we don't defend them that well, even in good conditions.

Why didn't I take my jacket and tie off? The shame.

Ooops! I knew I'd missed one.

A great night for the Wee MacBees ,although not as many kids there as last year. Good turnout from management and players. McNamara, Donnelly, Maxwell and Hincliffe. Plus Paton, Elliot, Sinclair, Stewart and Archibald. They all took part in the games, limbo dancing and congas. A big thanks to the club and Charlie Kirkwood for the bouncy castle-highlight of the night.

Agree. All the crap surrounding him was nothing to do with us (edit-ignore dodgy tracksuit resales) and we should appreciate him, for his time with us.

Neil Doncaster was on the radio and emphasised that it wasn't about re-opening old terracing. It will require roofing and barrier seating as per Germany. There is likley to be a good financial outlay to achieve it and without a guarantee that fans will flock back. Fans would probably relocate from seats to safe terracing and it is questionable as to how many new fans this will attract, on its own.

A fitting way for Hutton to bow out and an accurate representation of his form over the last month.
Footbal lis all about opinions, but I cannot believe you are criticising Hutton. If you watch his contribution and positioning, then you would realise that we will be a poorer team with out him. II agree with everything the manager said in his after match comments. Thanks Kyle and hope you will be back in 2012.

Sandy Brown's flying header of an own goal vs. Liverpool when he played for Everton is an absolute belter. It's on Youtube, but hard to find.

Willijag, I'm certain we scored six, we don't score six very often so it kind of sticks in the memory when we do, not sure if we conceded or not. Also sure Joe Craig was playing, if Alan Hansen was playing it must have been early in his Jags career. It was my first ever Sunday game so it was a real novelty. Football was so much more enjoyable back then
Impressive recall. 3rd January, 1974. 6-1. How did they manage to score?

Looks like a decent performance from Burns.
Ah the banter with the locals, at around 3.58 in.

From what I have seen this season there is not that much between any of the teams. Quite often results come down to a flash of brilliance, a bad mistake or a bit of luck on the day.
As Honved has said I am enjoying watching a team that wants to play an entertaining style of football. Does it always come off as planned - no but that should not be a shock with a young team and a manager in his first job. We need to stick with the team and the club as, in my opinion, we are at the start of what could be an interesting period for our us.
We lost the game on Saturday lets not lose our heads!
How do you go about reporting posts? You must know the forum rules by now? If we win ,we’re world beaters and Jackie is the next Celtic manager and Sinclair is off to Barcelona. But if we lose ,the team is crap, players should be hunted ,everyone in the league is better organised and have better players etc. I’m with you. We lost ONE nil, to a team everyone says will win the league. The team played poorly, these things happen. Was it really that bad?

You're right, of course. Niven became a legend, for example. Ritchie just wasn't as good a keeper. Watson arrived at Firhill long before being an over-the-hill has-been, etc. But I hope that the days of us signing 35+-year-olds just because they used to play for the h*ns or the tims are behind us.
Thought Bomber Jackson was superb in his short spell.

We had Ayr U at Firhill that weekend. Not any more - some duff Tuesday night now
Depending on Scottish Cup draw ,we could have ONE home game in January.

Really meant to post this when I got in on Saturday and this isn't a moan just for the sake of it, but..........For the love of god can the seats not be cleaned?? we have been saying for years and it never seems to get any better!! must have been 20 just in and around where 4 of us were sitting on Saturday caked with birs sh it!!
Summed it up when my wee boy said on the way home "Dad why is there is always birds jobbies on the seats at firhill"
Such a basic thing and has never been properly dealt with.
There is also an increasing amount of broken seats ,some quite dangerous. Some seat backs collapse or the metal from broken seats is left jutting out. Ironically ,mainly in the kids zone! Bit of a H & S nightmare.

Someone in work was saying the real radio phone in was coming live from firhill tonight, does anyone know if they are covering the game??
cheers
It's on now and they just interviewed Jackie Mac. Don't think they are doing any live coverage.

Dug out a few old VHS tapes of Jags games from the late 80's / early 90's today and was pleasantly surprised that the quality was pretty good.
Not being a techy geek type, I was wondering if anyone could advise the best way of transferring them to my PC and then to YouTube to share with the masses.
Among others, have the full highlights of the Forfar game along with most of the games from our successful couple of seasons in the Premier along with full highlights of the Tennents Sixes.

Cheers.

Scuse my ignorance. Think I've won £50 ,but how do you collect and/or claim it? Thanks

Radio Scotland news had Rangers denying he was coming to us on loan. His Dad has just been on Real Radio saying he'll be going on loan by tonight, then added "Roughie you'll be pleased". Probably nothing in it.
