Embarrassing. We made a bang average Utd look good. Gifted them a goal of a start then chucked it after giving Holt the freedom of Firhill to score their second. No belief from that point onwards, simply went through the motions.

Milne is a shadow of the player he was last season. Ngwenya is persistently caught out of position. Muirhead does what he occasionally does, something stupid and get’s himself sent off. And despite a plethora of midfielders we don’t have a decent defensive one. But the whole team was (like the Arbroath game) poor. Still shipping too many cheap goals.

Need something much, much better than that against QP and Ayr.

    All of this.
A bang average United team shows us how below average we really are.

Would just like to add, its good to know an elbow to the face and a push in the back are on par and merit a yellow and also kicking a player on the head while is on the ground from being fouled doesn't merit a talking to.

I’m the same but I honestly don’t think I’d bother. It was something I thought about during Save The Jags time and concluded then I probably wouldn’t support another team.

I’ve considered going to see EK a few times, especially when Squiddy was there but I couldn’t get motivated enough.

i went to Anfield recently and quite enjoyed the day out but couldn’t really get into it, even though I was a bit of a fan when Hansen played for them.

Yeah I know what you mean.
EKFC are a short walk away but last and only time i was there was for the Thistle friendly last season.
I'd be kidding myself on if I went to see Accies or QP.
Thought the same during STJ, just wouldnt bother anymore so i guess my answer to this thread is the same.

Just out of interest, did we have a deal with Greaves at that time ? Have they been in storage since then ?

    Nope.
Greaves only started when we were with Puma.
The jags shop around 91/93 during the Spall days,  use to be a door to the left of the main stands main entrance as you looked at it before it moved to where it is now.

and before that I remember it being a stall in the main stand on the concourse.

  4. Like the top but i've got an issue with the shorts and socks
Black shorts and sock on both kits.
home shorts has red/yellow trim, away just plain
home socks, have vertical red/yellow trim on the turnover, away horizontal.
From a purchase point of view you'd feel ripped off if your kid wanted both kits

At least when the 92-93 away kit came out it was only a change of top with shorts and socks still the same (Alternate black and red socks)

Got to agree with this. Why play pretty much the same team and  system that got us into this mess?

Probably cause the skill level and players available is so so so basic not much can be done with it.

I would've thought the starting 11 would've tried to make a name for themselves and bust a gut, nae try at least under the new boss but it wasn't to be.

Not a single football brain on that team today.

Priority is now survival and we're only a 1/4 of the way in the season.

Hopefully a clear out in January.

Some of the opinions in the stand today were ridiculous, some expecting massive changes in the space if a week.

Spoke to a couple of alloa fans after the game they said they narrow the pitch in the championship then back to normal size in league 1.

  6. No chance Craigen would take it, why give up BT sports?

Neilson we could never afford or have a budget to suit him

Duffy knocked back QP earlier in the week but doesnt come across as ambitious enough to get us to where we think we should be.

Lennon got a raw deal at St Mirren, got them a cup and top flight football, maybe just needs another chance at a bigger club plus it would leave the gypsies managerless which wouldnt be a bad thing.

  7. Archie and Shaggy had the fans backing from the word go, every Thistle fan wanted them to be a success and to a certain extent they were but in reality Thistle have been on a decline since finishing top 6 18 months ago.  The right decision has been made but im still a bit gutted for them.

Poor tactics and signings dont get results.

We've been signing players that no-one else wants so no wonder its bottom end of the championship.

Some of those players need to take a look at themselves and need a kick up the backside as well.

    Who's next then, Duffy, Lennon?

    Who would want it?

Cheers Archie & Shaggy up until that top 6 finish it was great.

  8. Out muscled, out fought, out played everywhere on the park.  Every team we play pushes us around with no response.

You can't say a single Jags player had a decent game and after that performance they didn't deserve the support that turned up the tonight.

Can you honestly see us winning the 2nd leg by 2 goals?

We've got a team full of players that no one else wants and why should any of them give a shit abt Sunday, they probably know if they are away.

Times up for the lot of them.

    Gutless, hopeless, clueless.

    Still love you Dools.

  9. I left 5s early tonight to watch this crap.

Let's face it, we've been rotten since we finished top 6 last season and hardly won a game since then, that's poor.

The calibre of signings shows lack of pulling power the club and/or manager has.

The tactics don't work, theres no plan b.

Tonight we saw for the second game in a row, a team change their tactics and formation against us and we didn't know how to deal with it. The MWell no5 came on in midfield and went for everything in his zone, in the same zone we've got a midfielder who runs abt like a headless chicken and another who will forever pass side ways or back.

No creativity, we're so obvious at set pieces,  we never hit a team on the break the way they do us, the team looks drained, fitness and sharpness is lacking, is it even confidence? Didn't Lambie get a hypnotist in once?

It frustrates the hell out me, that every bloody week I go with false hope, my old man says "in all the years I've been watching Thistle, they never fail to let you down" how true.

But you know what?  I can't make Dundee but I've got a half day off work planned for the first leg of the play off, I'll be there the second leg and I'll be up renewing my season ticket for more punishment next season.

C'mon Thistle let's finish the last 3 games on a high, I don't want to go to Inverness, Falkirk or Greenock next season

  10. Two really poor teams out there today but it's the same old mucking about with the ball instead of just having a shot or getting the ball in.

Some if these guys need a kick up the arse.

But you know what really annoys me, lack of leadership.

    #Itsnotdifficult to clear a ball

#itsnotdifficult to pass a ball forward

#itsnotdifficult to lead team through a game and not just on to the park at the start

#itsnotdifficult to pick yourself up after a nothing challenge and chase back instead of leaving a gap that leads to a goal.

Time to pick a captain that will fight for the team.

    Gutless.

  11. Archie, tactical genius.

Saw it wasn't working, formation and 3 changes. Can't remember seeing Archie and especially Shaggy so animated on the bench during a game, also nice to see Kenny Arthur nipping the 4th officials ear during the second half.

Confidence and communication was hugely improved compared to last week and we're as good as any team in the bottom six.

Yeah there a few guys still need a kick up the arse but from here we move on and go for 3 points at NDP and we jump above Hamilton.

If you're not going on Tuesday you should, get behind the team make yourself heard, and get there early cause the turnstiles at NDP are a nightmare

  12. It suggests a defensive vulnerability, which must surely be at least partially a consequence of having to change the defence almost every game. We came good last season when we had a settled defence. Missing key personel in Osman, Cerny and Booth doesn't help either.

There's a reason managers don't tend to voluntarily rotate defenders.

To me Osman and Booth are not missed.

Osman for a captain is anonymous, and to often doesnt get stuck in enough for a defensive midfielder is he 18 months into his 3 year deal got? signs papers, puts feet up.

Booths gives away to many freekicks is too lightweight and not quick enough to run up and down the line, i'd pick Elliott over Booth for LB any day.

Barton wants too long on the ball and is shrugged off the ball to easily, plays with his head down rather than looking about, too many side passes, he cant seem to find that defence splitting pass we need.

The progress is clear, that mob couldn't beat us over 90 minutes twice in a week and you can say last night wasn't our strongest team.
