  1. 250k to Oxford United.... if this happens, it'd be absolutely baffling, no matter what the add ons are. Surely LL could get a much more high profile move - and why would we have agreed to such a low offer (and/or possible release clause)? Totally bizarre for a very highly rated player who's had a great season and been noticed and singled out for praise by the media and other teams and managers.

  2. Hurrah!! Absolutely superb achievement. This team/squad are really solid, really professional and also grittier and playing with more self-belief than the past few premiership seasons. Superbto make this milestone after a slow start. Doolan on 102 as well. It's a pleasure to be a Jags fan!

Can't quite believe we don't even need to look down the table for the rest of the season! Let's catch Hearts now....

  3. That exact draw in that exact order would be 1/8 x 1/7 x 1/6 x 1/5 x 1/4 x 1/3 x 1/2 = 1/40320 To get that draw with the ties coming out ion any order need to divide that by 4x3x2x1 = 1/1680 To have all of the "big" 4 at home is much more likely 4/8 x 4/7 x 3/6 x 3/5 x 2/4 x 2/3 x 1/2 = 1/70 Rangers getting 14 out of 16 home ties I'm still working on, but it is going to be highly unlikely !

http://calculator.tutorvista.com/coin-toss-probability-calculator.html (if we take a Home draw to be a Heads toss) tell us that The Rangers getting 8 home ties out of their last 8 was 256-1, and 14 of 16 is 546-1. I've always laughed when people talk about rigged draws, but these are pretty long odds......

As for ours, at least it's not Celtic. It's not unimaginable that we could grind out a draw there and beat them at Firhill. I can't see us winning at Pittodrie.

  4. I expect a point from this game (I may not get it, but I expect it!). Killie are a poor side who just had a good couple of results. Time to burst their bubble. We've followed inexplicably awful performances with surprise good ones before - we need that now.

Tactics - whenever we get the ball, run straight at Balatoni.

  5. I'd be very surprised if Bannigan decided ICT was a good move. He could do better. We should be doing all we can to sign Abdul up and I still hope he will stay, on a 2 year deal. I'd say Lawless is the most likely of the three to want to go there, if the story is true, that is...

  6. I don't think the table looks too bad right now. Yes we're in 10th, but we have played no less than 4 fewer games than Kilmarnock below us (on GD) and the two teams 1 point ahead of us.

The league is really tight this year but we have to believe that the team will take at least some points from those four games. If they do, we'll quickly move up the table. I also happen to believe we are a better team than Killie or Hamilton (at the very least).

44 points should do it but we should also be aiming higher.

  7. Wasn't at the game and didn't learn much from the TV "highlights". Last year, Archie made the same mistake against Inverness at Firhill in the Cup. He started with no strikers, lost the game and later apologised for his tem selection. He does seem prone to odd selections, and I agree with other posters that we should have been setting the agenda for this game, not allowing DU to do it.

I wasn't at Tannadice yesterday but I was at last year's cup tie against ICT and there seem to be weird similarities between the two. Certainly in both cases, the vast majority of our support's response to hearing the team line up was "WTF?", and on both occasions we were utter sh1te. It's all very puzzling - especially as we have such a good record of late against Yinited Why change that? Baffling.

  8. Very excited by this. He's by no means over the hill at 28, and even though he never became a regular, from the very limited attention I pay to Yinited, he seemed to overcome a very slow start, fans on his back etc., to show some real form - so he's more than capable of performing in the Premiership. Delighted to see him getting away from that sinking ship (HA!) and coming back home. He should find plenty of inspiration back at Firhill. We need creativity next season, especially if Lawless is away (and Erskine > Lawless >>>>>> Amoo).

Also, Bannigan may be away but if we're having any trouble convincing Doolan to sign up again, this isn't going to do us any harm. Win-win.

  9. Bit of a meh draw but as others have said, it's very winnable. Would obviously rather have had East Kilbride (who were obviously being held in reserve...) or the like, but on the other hand, I fancy us in this more than I would have against Celtic, Hearts, The Rangers, Motherwell, Ross C, ICT, and perhaps even Falkirk or Hibs. So, it's not great, but not terrible. If DU are still in the utter disarray they're in just now by the time this comes around, there should be no excuses.
