  2. Ah ha!! Of course, I'm having a senior moment!! The 8th is the McCrea bash.

The Jags Trust PotY is where we get to do our thing and that bash is on the 14th May. Phew!!

A wee lie down is now in order. Us old folk.........................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  3. Well our Nomad Player of the Year Trophy has been ordered and will arrive at the ground next week. I must say I have been extremely impressed by the superb customer service I received from our supplier who operates worldwide - so they get my recommendation - Do check them out at www.houseofcrystal.co.uk or www.decantershop.co.uk

Crimms! By the looks of things we have missed the party!! I have not seen it mentioned and thought I had till the last game of the season. Tell me the PotY party date !!!!

It could be a phantom award - Hmm I may have to rethink the speech!

  4. Two brothers are die hard blue. I pray to a god that doesn't exist to make their days as pain free as possible and i thank him/her/it for giving me enough brain cells (barely) to go down a different path.

Show the kid that you are a class act and they will follow the red and yellow brick road forever.

  5. Our Facebook page now shows us to be 700 strong. The actual number is surely higher as I also have a newsletter distribution list and of course guys who follow this Forum.

  6. To best insure that news of this year's selection process gets a good airing I post this topic on the main forum for greater visibility as in the past "friends of the Nomads" have got involved too.

As ever we will try to get a nice trophy for the PotY 2016..... and find a Nomad or Friend to present it on the night!

    Here is the post:

Thanks to a prod from a fellow Nomad, (TopCat) I am reminded that we are nearing the end of the season and that means it is time for us to once again reflect on which Thistle Player to select as the 2015/16 Nomad Player of the Year.

As in previous years, we Nomads will fund the purchase of a Nomad Trophy suitably inscribed and hopefully presented at the end of the season bash by a Nomad who is in town that evening.

With the introduction of Audio Commentary and greater exposure on the Telly we are in an even better position this year to be active and knowledgeable in our choice. I have never felt so well connected to the Club despite the distance between us and so feel this trophy ought to reflect our thanks for Club efforts.

You guys and gals get to have a say by donating a fiver (at least!) to the kitty. Paypal me at [email protected] marking your payment as a gift to avoid unnecessary Paypal charges.

You then get the chance to email me your top three candidates.

(of course, if you wish to give me fewer candidates, then fine!)

Your top pick will get 10 points, your second 6. your third 3.

I have posted this on Facebook will now share this message with my Nomad e-mail list.

I'll keep you all informed on how the kitty is growing.

The kitty stands at £60+ :-)

  8. I have looked out Nomad donated football related items that could be of interest to Thistle / Other fans and listed them in Gumtree to keep costs down and takings up!

Every penny received will be added to this good cause.

Far flung fans need only contact me through Gumtree to discover the cheapest means of mailing any desired items.

For instance, pop over to https://www.gumtree.com/p/other-sports-leisure/partick-thistle-signed-football/1159063796 and see a Signed Thistle Ball.

I have suggested cheap prices, but feel free to donate what you can to the cause.

Then checkout the other Football related gear I have listed.

  9. A good number of years ago we fans were a very worried lot. There were issues galore and real concerns about most things Thistle. This Forum was absolutely vital in bringing motivated guys and gals together .. Indeed the creation of the Nomads is rooted in that time and members of this group.

I sincerely hope that we can organise a rota of effort to keep this thing going

    The alternatives?

o Facebook groups - ideally one that we all join or maybe special interest groups like the Buses? or indeed the Nomads(600+)

o Help for this forum from the Club, maybe in exchange for advertising (and / or recognition of the good that comes from this Forum)
