  1. He was outstanding for us 2 seasons ago but that was probably cos he was out his ******* nut on the finest Peuvian marching powder half the time.

Waste of a real talent but I find it hard to feel too sorry for him. These guys are not the sharpest tools but you'd expect them to know the huge risks involved in doing this kinda thing. He'll end up with the DABs.

  2.

Scully ain't fit and Archie has said Cullen isn't ready for first team action just yet. Crawford looked OK last week, even saved a penalty. What is helpful is he seemed to know most of the players prior to Cappielow and is quite vocal.

    I stand corrected.

  3. I hate the term however I feel he's now more of a luxury player than he was 5 years ago.

Also I reckon we've now spunked what was left of our players budget on Ziggy so I doubt we'll be seeing GGH back at Firhill anytime soon.

  4. I actually want Killie to stay up...

It's a much better away day than Falkirk plus I think if they're not going down this season they'll be favourites for the drop next season thus taking some pressure off us.

I don't see them having the cash to strengthen the squad over the summer if they do stay up so I'd welcome another season of pumping Killie at Rugby Park instead of the usual shitefest of a few seasons back at Falkirk...

  5. Aye, we've a lot to thank McCall for, particularly in steadying the ship post Bunnet. A feature of his time with us was his signing a string of players who played well for us but lost their way after leaving us. Cairney, Paton, Twaddle, Boyle and Buchanan immediately spring to mind. Storey & McKeown are a couple of others who were useful additions. Got the best out of Tuffey (by introducing a goalie coach) and turned Harkins career around very possibly resulting in saving us from administration. McCall also re-introduced a youth policy, raw by today's level but still responsible for developing Stuart Bannigan.

Of course I'm not blind to the fact that McCall's signings of experienced players were by and large failures and he himself wasn't exactly the greatest of role models but I feel the above considerably outweighs the negatives. And I've not even mentioned a couple of forays into the Ayrshire Juniors.

    Yup.

Imagine where we'd be now if McCall hadn't signed Doolan...

  6. The only time I've ever seen thistle look dangerous from corners involved Balatoni bombing into the box to get in the end of a Ross Forbes pinpoint delivery.

We've not looked dangerous from corners since Forbes left....

  7. Loada shite. 12 referees on the park tonight so didn't stand a chance.

BTW 1st time in a couple of seasons I've been in the Aitken Suite. I'll probably wait another couple of seasons before I go back... 15 minutes to get served. Actually 15 minutes! 3 bar staff is not enough. Club is losing money by only having 3 staff on...

  8. Do Hibs not have a hybrid pitch?

That for me would be the best solution but also the most expensive and also subject to a drainage survey at Firhill. Other than that, my gut feeling is that the pitch will be re-seeded in the summer and we'll all just cross our fingers and hope that next year there'll not be as much rain...

A hybrid pitch would be good though.

  9. Love the audio commentary from PTFC.co.uk but they really have to do something about the wind. A cheap wind shield or muffler for their mics would cut some of it out. You can hardly hear what they're saying over the blustering wind...

  10.

Queen of the South. Pinged it in the top corner from outside the box in a Dennis Bergkamp-style "not sure if he even took a shot" kind of way.

I don't remember many goals but I remember this one.

Last game of the season, pretty much last kick of the baw. Dools takes the baw on his left peg and loops an outrageous shot from outside the 18 yard box into the top left hand corner!

    Sublime!

A lot of the time I don't think Dools gets the credit he deserves and also i dread to think where we might be right now if we didn't have him. Over the last 5-6 years we've not really had to worry too much about our striker situation because Dools has always been there for us. Others have come and gone with various levels of success (Taylor, Craig, Baird, etc) but all these years Dools has hardly been injured, he's been 2nd choice but always come back top scorer. The guy's a legit legend and without him we'd probably be a mid table, semi part-time championship side at best!

    Love you Doolan!
