Think of what we could have when we get to full strength, we're missing Fraser, Higgy and Welsh, and been without Seaborne , Elliott and Craigen are coming onto their game, wee Lawless is a rising star, McMillan is becoming rock solid and new boy Frans was a star on his debut, thats 9 players so far, O'Donnel is playing well, Balatoni has improved a wee bit lately, Foxy pulled off some fine saves last Saturday and Osman seldom puts a foot wrong , have I missed anyone ? thats 13 players of Premier class so I'm confident of a result on Wednesday we've got nothing to be afraid of ,and also have no doubt we will stay up as well. Lets hear it for the Jags !!

Thought Frans stood out head and shoulders in defence ( excuse the intentional pun !!) , a great signing by Archie, pity he wont be with us for long !! Yes , play our best players against Sellik which means a pairing of Seabourne and Frans let Balatoni sit this one out on the bench, Dools also needs a rest again . Lawless for me has been the surprise of the season , the wee man is playing out of his skin , great to see how he's basically taken over from Higgy, a real fireball, hope he keeps up the momentum !!

I'm reading (rightly or wrongly) that the 2 players are being disciplined for being out too late , no mention as such of any involvement as perpetrators !!

I'm convinced my daughter mustve been conceived that night !! Sat behind a row of priests in the south stand swearing my lungs out !! , magic day all round , best Thistle team ever !! I'd walk a million miles to get a repeat of that in the Scottish cup , C'mon the Jags !!

When will we ever play the postponed game against Celtic ? Why couldnt the fixture have been played already ? Why not just switch the venues for the opening day of the season ? Who made the decision to postpone ? why hasnt this game been played yet ? Answers anyone ?

I'm in Stoney , got my bus pass so taking the Coast Rider , one of the few games I dont have to travel north to go south !! And remember guys , over 55's are only £19 return anywhere in the country just now.

This is one game I wont be attending, still pissed off at being removed from my ST seat against the tims last season and even less excited about going to a midden to watch restricted viewing of a game against euro failures !!

Also remember an incident at Shawfield ( new years day game ?) when John Fairbairn broke the crossbar just before the start of the game by swinging on it , as was his habit !!

got a distinct memory of Denis McQuade scoring a hatrick at firhill v dundee, he was playing centre forward that day and one goal entered the net via the back of his head when the winger (lawrie or ewing ?) just managed to catch the ball before the bye line and crossed while Denis had turned around to go back thinking he wasnt going to get it !!! Typical Mcquade , hey !

The very fact that 'Well let him go speaks volumes !! Sounds like he's reached the end of his career unfortunately, but I wish him all the best against the others in the league.

Much as ive always liked Fox I think he needs to be dropped and told why !! His form is disastrous and has been since his call up last year to the national squad, dont quite understand it but he hasnt been the same , Gallacher is a much safer pair of hands IMO.

I'm both amazed and pleasantly satisfied with Lawless's recent performances and congratulate him on finding a bit of form in this standard we're at now, didnt think he was going to cut it at this level but glad ive been proved wrong once again. We sorely miss Fraser. Wasnt at the games v St Midden (midweek not on for me ) but the comments about Goodwin and Osbourne having good games Tuesday had me thinking that we mustve snuffed out their danger, after all we came out the winners, so onwards and upwards !!

It's all over at Firhill, with Nathan Eccleston's extra-time goal enough to send Partick Thistle through to the last eight. Jags fans of a certain vintage may be dreaming of a repeat of 1971s famous League Cup final success.

Was over the moon that we won, good result from a mediocre performance, thought Lawless had a better game than he has had for an awful long time, scored a great goal and assisted with third but still think he's too light for this league, one good game in a dozen doesn't cut it for me, once again refereeing was pathetic, maybe that's another reason our gates are so low, seems to be a common case for complaint all over the country resulting in drops in attendances generally, we though haven't been playing particularly well of late so once again contribtuting factor

Dave McParland was and still is my favourite player and manager of all time a real credit to the game and a very worthy legend, unlike him though, I couldn't remember much on the night we won the League Cup, but what a great feeling in Maryhill after the game , lets hope tonight will see us going through in the Glasgow Derby. Lets hear it for the Jags !!!
