  1. A quick look at Reading's wiki page reveals that they have no less than six young defenders out on loan. Amongst them Zak Jules at Motherwell, Jake Cooper at Millwall and Dominic Hyam at Aldershot. All three are younger than Keown and quite a bit taller. They always say you can't teach tall.

At 22, if he was going to make it at reading you would think that he'd have made the breakthrough by now.

I think we've got a shot. Maybe we can sneak him out under the radar

  2. I like the good Scottish players but it seems the clubs who have them price themselves out of the market.

I think Crawford might be possible as he's been injured and maybe a bit of the shine is of him. That said Archie wil probably turn up somebody from the lower leagues in England. Let's hope it's a Barton and not a Banton

  3. I would like to see us keep the team together as much as possible. We should allow Lindsay to progress but do everything to sign Keown.

    Let Ridgers, Amoo, Wilson leave.

Resign Welsh and Elliot, and take a chance on Fraser but loan him out for a year to the Championship.

    Sign Ali Crawford.

Replace the remaining fringe players with youths.

2 major outs 2 major ins.

  4. Just watched the game (was shown live on US TV here in California). Great team performance. They really put everything on the line for each other. Neat passing and great close control. They all look fit also. No real failures, but we really lack a line leader in the mold of the King of Spain in his pomp. Don't think we need a target man, but do need someone with more guile. Craigen did will but I think Forbes adds something extra. Thought Baird also added a little extra cleverness, when he came on.

Don't see a space for Osbourne, Kerr or Shuggie in that team. For that matter El Boaby won't get a look in either. Hoping that Henoc and Simon can make an impact, though...

  5. I am not sure what the financial arrangement was wit him - but when we brought him in on loan, his wages were paid by a supporter. Did that continue when we signed him in January ? I am not sure that Graham's work rate and attitude is any better than Craig's.

This ! I don't see anything in Graham, that is better than Craig or Doolan. May is a different story. I hope Archie has a plan, and at least get Doolan signed up before they leave for Spain
