When I heard the line up, it absolutely didn't inspire , same players , same system and ultimately same result . Disappointed we played the same square passing game as Archibald's team with everything in front of Alloa .

Jim Goodwin and Alloa have obviously been very clever by narrowing the pitch and pushing teams to play through the middle which is their strength with the players they've got and the organisation they have as well.

The players we've got like Doolan , Erskine , Bannigan , Slater , Bell etc are all decent players but for some reason the system we're playing isn't get the best out of them.

Got to say I was disappointed with Gary Caldwell's tactics, especially after half time when it was obvious it wasn't working , should have pushed both full backs further up the park and opened the game up with diagonal passes ,instead we kept on coming inside which suited Alloa and finally at set plays do we really need every single player back to defend , it gives the opposition absolutely nothing to think about , if there was 2 forwards kept up the field they would have to be marked and also give us a chance to get out, unfortunately that was Archies philosophy as well.

Got to agree with this. Why play pretty much the same team and  system that got us into this mess?

We were soooo bad last night that I turned the picture off and kept the sound on!!

Ha ha that made me spit my tea out my nose. Brilliant

Game was torture to watch. Feel sorry for Elliott. He is clearly not comfortable at right back. Also for doolan totally isolated with no support but archie wont change his lone striker tactics anytime soon.

    Time's up for him surely.

  3. it was pointed out long ago archie wasn't up to this job and anyone who dared to bring it up were called knickerwetters or something similar.  Most of you were happy to keep the blinkers on and follow the herd. I was slated for saying the one man up front team he insits on putting out is pish. So dry yer eyes

  4. I think the point is being missed....

I was trying to say that it's a bit much for the "dancing on Thatcher's grave" brigade to be condemning you for insensitivity and inapropriateness...

it's you that's missing the point.

his comment was of a sectarian nature, and had no place on a jags forum.

  5. I feel the same way CJ.Even if we win on Sunday I won't be able to fully enjoy for worrying about the Morton game!

ach enjoy the day out, the morton game will take care of itself. :thumbsup2:

morton will be worried about the game, we dont need to, a draw will do us.

  6. Good to win, & I hope we do, but promotion more important. Have said it before also, happy for key players to be rested for the final if required.

Erskine on the bench, Forbes starts, Elliott for Lawless. Craig for Doolan if Doolan is now seen as the main striker etc.

I'd be wanting a full strength team personally. Let's win this thing!!

If things are going well use our subs early.

A wee distraction this week from the league might not be the worse thing in the world either.

  7. i lost my brother to a hill walking accident last summer.

seem to see similar accidents on the news all the time now.

he loved hill walking and was attempting to do all the munros, knew the risks, but it's one of they things you think will never happen to you i guess. i go walking up the hills at old kilpatrick now and then, but would never think of tackling the cairngorms or similar.

  8. i thought he was having a good game yesterday, before he lost it.

couldn't really see the penalty incident from where i was standing, but the youtube clip is pretty conclusive.

really daft thing to handle as there was a jags player right behind him, who looked in the process of jumping to block it.

the sending off was madness, an experienced player like him should know better.

  9. It is poor, but there are reasons for it.

    Namely:

    1. Dumbartons shocking form so far

    2. The fact this game had been postponed 4 times already, and the uncertainty of it if would go ahead until late afternoon

    3. The Christmas Factor.

    4. Having to pay £15 to get in. Footie far too expensive for a lot of folk, especially this time of year.

  10. Right, here's a thread for just that alone...

First up, who out there wants to help with this move... Be a point of contact, be part of club consultation etc.

If you see yourself moving to the north end, and want to help out, even if you don't know how you can help... Get yet name down...

sorry, but your timing couldn't be any worse. all depends on how the club votes on newco
