  1. That building is the biggest embarrassment in East Kilbride (which is no mean feat). I believe the Kean's were also responsible for building the monstrosity that is The Byre. I've never set foot in such a hideously over-priced and pretentious pub in my life. I'd grudge paying the prices they charge in there in Central London. In fact, that whole area is a complete embrassment to the Town. It's ridiculously out of place and looks completly artificial.

    EK's completely artificial!!

Byre is a G1 pub, nowt to do with the Keans.

Have to disagree about it being pretentious as well. I'd rather go there than run the gauntlet of the town centre or the old mans gaff round the corner!

  2. I smell shite

Bit on Newsnight Scotland about the Keans and our MP. Most of it has been in thelocal press for a while now.

If there's anybody out there that doesnt think this smells ofshite, may I point them to theSt James Retail Centre in Hairmyres. Won a Carbuncle for worst new Scottish building. Bright yellow, Mediterennan style shopping precinct. No probs with the planners there!! Oh, and Mr McCann had his election office next door, rent free, from Mr Kean too. Hmmm.

  3. Can't say I'm bothered he is back, never liked him much as a commentator anyway, his constant selling of the Premiership and all who play in her being the best thing on the planet gets a bit tiresome. My only fear is that Redknapp will be promoted from ruining the analysis to ruining the actual game itself.

    What he said.

And his painful first name terms bum chumminess whilst commentating.

  4. Flames deluxe mixed kebab. Chicken tikka, shish kebab, seekh kebab, lamb tikka, and a mountain of donner on a nan bread.

a.k.a. arterial blockage in a pizza box.

BTW, am looking and editing my pics now. If Stirling are considering appealing against their red card, I've got a pic that'll make them think twice. Utterly disgraceful attempt to seriously hurt Paton.

Excellent choice. All thast missing is chips.

Thats my food porn for the night, God I hate diets.

  5. Just in from the game, thanks to reckless driving and a rapid service from the kebab shop. Game nearly didn't go ahead as the referee decided to have a late pitch inspection. The guys were well fired up for this, and both managers were very keen for the game to go on, although I suspect one of them had wished they'd chosen to abandon the game.

HUGE well done to Shaun again, and brilliant to see wee Jamie get on the scoresheet. One thing I will say though. You all really HAVE to look out for Tommy Dunnet's video highlights to see Flannigan's goal. Erm............looked a bit wow from where I was, so can't wait to see the view from the TV gantry.

Pics up later - hoping I've got some good ones. Now going to enjoy a massive kebab. :happy3::fan::party:

Edited to add: - I'm soaked, I'm frozen, I'm starved.

    I'm happy.

    What kind?

  6. I can exclusively reveal that Sid will be having either a Morrisons microwave curry or a Morrisons 'The Best' (toffs are careless) Mousakka for his tea along with a drink of full fat milk and a read of the soaraway Sun, before going onto play Fifa 11, all whilst wearing Pampers Pull Up nappies. Fact.

  7. Was it Dowie/cowie or something a centre half who went to the pub at raith away instead of watching the game. ex-rankgers?

Sorry kind of going off the thread name here.

Iain Nicolson used to make me vomit too.

  8. The Windsor Buffet in Leith Walk is an excellent old fashioned pub if you like proper beer. Just a short walk along Brunswick Road to Easter Road - Equivalent from the Woodside to Firhill.

The "trendy" bar in the area is Utopia, on Easter Rd itself.

Four in Hand is the traditional Hibs diehard pub. Full of "Saturday regulars".

    Its closed

  9. And why not?

I don't get why anyone is so concerned about us giving away fans something they don't even get in their own grounds.

If another team tried to do that to us, you'd have a freaking canary.

I've taken my 4 year old a few times now, and I'd be willing to pay up to a fiver for him to get in.

  10. I'm pretty confident that Clyde will move to East Kilbride and their name will change to 'East Kilbride Football Club'.

For those who don't already know, a new team has been started in East Kilbride - 'East Kilbride Football Club'.

They currently have boys clubs at all levels and they are backed by the millionaire owners of local construction company Kean Construction and Ian King, the editor of Sunsport. They have stated time and time again in the local press that their ultimate aim is to have a professional team in the town. They have also categorically stated that they believe that this can be acheived 'within 3 years'. I always wondered as to why they were so confident about the timescale, but with Clyde stating their intention to move from Broadwood, this is starting to look more and more likely.

The Kean brothers have been invloved with Clyde for many years. I understand they have been their main financial backers for some time and were responsible for bringing in many players, including Alan Lithgow.

It's also interesting to note that the Kean's have just been granted permission to build a 'community stadium' at Calderglen Country Park despite fierce local opposition.

    Interesting times ahead.

The Keans have the local Cooncillors in their back pocket. The local MP got his election HQ rent free from them too. They seem to get planning for all their developments no matter how ridiculous (have you seen the bright yellow Spanish themed shopping centre in Hairmyres?!?!?)

The football pitch thing is well underway at Calderglen. Shoudl be finished for spring. Not sure if theres space etc for stands and traffic access for significant amounts of cars, pedestrians etc Should be fine for Clyde then. Boom boom.

  11. Anybody see Newnicht last night and one of the most stupid performances by an interviewer (Gordon Brewster) that I think I've ever seen? John Swinney apologized for everybody's inconvenience and gave a perfectly lucid and reasoned account of what happened on the M8: two lorries jacknifed and so blocked access, after which much more snow than anybody anticipated fell and froze, and with all the traffic jamming up, it simply got worse and worse. Nobody's fault (except maybe for everybody in a car or van who knew that conditions might be hazardous). A classic "act of God" if ever there was one, yet all the interviewer wanted was somebody to blame, demanding that the Transport Minister had to be sacked etc etc.

    Terrible stuff.

Indeed. Its perfectly reasonable in the 21st century for it to take two days to melt some frozen water on the busiest road in Scotland.

  12.

Typical, we are only SFL1 club to get drawn against a team in same league (alongwith our opponents obviously before any pedantics jump in). Plus we are away there in the league on 18th December, just 3 weeks prior to cup.

    pedants.

    ;)
