  1. If he's bought it bulk at trade price from Joma then fair enough. If he's paid what Joma were asking ordinary customers to pay in the shop per item then selling it at a higher price to what fans could have bought it at originally then I agree, it's not really cricket.

  2. Yeah, I had to order my Dad's season ticket for him last night because he couldn't do it on his ipad. I'm no Maurice Moss but surely it would only take about one season tickets worth of IT wizardry to sort this out then we could get lots of season tickets worth of money from apple owners. The club has known about this for a while and there's really no excuse for it not being sorted by now.

  3. The fee is probably aimed at putting people off rather than the time it takes. If it was only £1 loads of people inexperienced with online purchasing would just turn up at the office and they'd be getting constantly interrupted. £10 makes it worth going through the hassle of figuring it out yourself if you have the technology available.

  4. They banned them in schools because it's too dangerous for children to have a big bundle of stickers in their pocket beside their cigarette lighter.

In other news Gary Fraser just drove passed me on Ally Parade, I said to my coleague "That's Gary Fraser the Partick Thistle player" he replied "What, that wee ned?". I didn't have a comeback.

  5. After the most exciting season in years setting up what looks to be another exciting season next year with a barmy Chmpionship and any number of teams capable of dropping out of or qualifying for Europa in the Premiership I;m hoping they'll just leave it as it is for now. Change it when it gets boring, not when it gets good.

  6.

How does a transfer fee get treated in club accounts. Does it get written off over the length of the contract or right away. If they paid 125k and it is written off over the 2 years then 62.5k would balance the books for SU

Your second option. It gets written down over the length of the contract so a one million pound player on a 4 year contract losses 250k in value every year til his contract runs out. This is called amortisation. There's a good website called the Swiss ramble which is written by an accountant with a keen interest in football that explains all this stuff.

  7. If memory served me correctly (which it often doesn't) prices stayed the same last year? In which case I would expect a hike this year and having expressed my disbelief at people questioning paying an extra £25 to reserve a seat for their kids I guess I can hardly complain if my ST goes up by a similar amount.

  8. It wouldn't really interest me, but I must admit that I love the idea of a non-Celtic season ticket. It's so beautifully, subtly insulting, and it makes such a lie of the idea that the ugly sisters prop up Scottish football. Might get a bit of media interest too.

It could also be interpreted as being defeatist. Celtic fans will just say people are buying it because they don't want to see their team get pumped.

  9. I’m a season ticket holder in the JHS and I’ve thought a few times it would be better if our singing section was in the main stand where they could influence the game more. Saying that however I don’t think I’d want to sit in there with a load of columns in the way myself and can understand why people wouldn’t want to move. I don’t think the board have handled this terribly well, it shouldn’t have been put on the shoulders of a few fans reps moments before the final game of the season and the stink it has caused was entirely foreseeable. They could be a lot worse though, if they really didn’t care about the singing section they could just have moved them back to the JHS where there is more than enough room for them and so long as it’s done properly the supporters meeting is a positive thing, lots of clubs would just have said this is what’s happening end of story. In an ideal world they would have had the supporters meeting first before making any announcement and this could all have been avoided. At the end of the day I hope the decision is overturned sooner rather than later and then we can all get on with winning the treble next season.

  10. Danny lennon's record at St Mirren probably stands up to Alex Ferguson's. They sacked him too.

To be fair they sacked Ferguson because they found out he'd agreed to go to Aberdeen. A bit like finding out your girlfriends going to dump you from one of her mates and then dumping her before she dumps you.

  11. Scotty, read the other thread, its not about cost saving in the stand, its about saving the office staff a bit of work come the Celtic game.

Ask yourself though if they can move the NS completely, they can also move 600 ST holders in the JHS for Celtic, what is to stop them moving the whole Jags support to the main stand when Celtic or Rangers come visiting or when it suits them

Fair enough, if that's the only reason then it's really not worth it. Arrangements this season worked well enough for me. I've signed the petition on change.org.

  12. I'll be renewing ASAP. The NS thing has been handled shambolically but it's not a deal breaker for me, I'll still be at every home game next season. IMHO the club should just let us know how much of a difference the NS makes financially. If it's a few grand then it's not worth losing the benefits in PR and atmosphere a red and yeller NS brings. If it's hundreds of thousands of pounds we're losing which could be spent on strengthening the team then that's another thing. At the moment however we have no idea, we're just being told second hand that it's going which simply isn't good enough.
