  1. since hans had a wee bump and is unfit to fly today, i took the millennium falcon out for a spin to keep its engines ticking over.

appears sevco have ditched the gazebo ..... they have a much bigger tent erected for todays egm

So that's why they needed the second part of the Ashley loan :D

  2. I AM a season ticket holder at Firhill - just don't get all the obsession with Rangers - out with our club - yes I will follow Rangers - I personally don't see any problems with that - plenty folk go to other matches ( professional and Junior level ) - It just so happens my choice out with partick thistle is Rangers

    Well said Jagman :thumbsup2:

  3. i know I've got into arguments with him but he has never hidden that he is a rangers fan.

I actually like him when he posts nothing about rangers and talks about the youth teams or just about partick thistle

I hope his son makes it as a partick thistle player

Never hidden that fact although i don't go to games anymore and will never go back until a change happens at boardroom level and how the club is run.

I actually like you all when you lot post about Partick Thistle and not Rangers

I hope my son makes it too and would be the proudest man in Firhill if it was to happen.

Feck me we have alot in common

  4. perhaps we talk about the sevco 2012 fiasco because when you tune into the BBC Scot 6 o'clock footie programme you get a minimum half an hour of discussion every night on so it's hard to avoid. In any case it is the gift that keeps on giving. No-one picked up bilko's comment about Cosgrove being a "Rangers hater"......I'd contest that Cosgrove is an intelligent guy with well-reasoned arguments and is spot on his assessment of events in Govan. I'm sure that his Catholic upbringing and support for independence are incidental in the minds of 'gers fans...... As for the other cheek, isn't in refreshing to see Lawwell distance sellick from Irish Republicanism, you can hear the sound of cages being rattled in the east end... :)

    Hi Stuart :D

  5. bilko I have heard stories about the easdales that would make your hair stand on end and mike Ashley of course is not interested in the well being of the club.

But you didn't answer my points - can you please answer the questions I am asking -

have portrayed king as a saint and a hero. Yet he was one of the ones who left your club in liquidation in 2012 added to that you have had the points made to you by kings behaviour in South Africa. He repaid 40 million out of £140 million - is their no poverty in South Africa? Do the South African nhs not need money? How is this behaviour of a great man? If Ashley had did that he would rightly be branded a rat but because it's king he is a hero.

You also say there is a dislike of rangers and I agree with you there, there clearly is. With the exception of your good self and a few others rangers fans hate partick thistle. The vast majority of your fellow fans regards us as a diddly team who don't deserve to be in the premier league and can't wait for us to go tumbling down the leagues. Are you really surprised that if your fellow fans hate us they don't get much sympathy back?

Last point - the tendency if rangers to pirtray as victims. Fact rangers were liquidated in 2012 and the SFA bent over backwards to get you back in and even pretend it was this same club. Why was this not allowed to happen with Third Lanark, Airdrieonians who had yo become the unpopular Airdrie united name, or why was there no help to Clydebank - my answer because none of these clubs were Rangers so there was no bending over backwards to help them.

I look forward to your answers - after that still hope you will continue to post about thistle and the youth football. Your non rangers posts are always good mate

With all due respect TL what does it matter to Thistle fans or anybody else for that matter who is running Rangers other than the football authorities and the shareholders etc who have voted King and others in.

What could i say that would convince you to have a different opinion?

I know how things work here so what is the point.in even trying mate.

  6. I think in a round about way, that's the point I was making. When he talks about them, it's rather embarrassing.

When Thistle fans talk more about Rangers than they do Thistle then i think that is embarrassing.

    Mask slipping?

Going into We Are The People mode?

    What are you talking about?

  7. As a decent minded individual I hope that Sevco never darken the upper reaches of Scottish football the way that Rangers did, as I find their followers (generally the same people) to be arrogant, self-absorbed, ignorant, dismissive, exclusive and aggressive. More recently, also deluded. Oh, and gullible.

Not like me. I'm always respectful, open-minded, tolerant. And most importantly non-judgemental.

That should earn you a few 'likes' from like minded individuals :)

  8. You do come across as a half decent guy Billko but to say outwith Celtic, the SPFL is mediocre is laughable when you look at the current Sevco side, a side that is struggling to get out of 2nd tier Scottish football. Did Celtic not get beat tonight at home? I watched the Aberdeen game on Sunday and the score line was ludicrous. Aberdeen controlled the game for 60 minutes and could easily have been 2 or 3 up before Celtic scored. You can only laugh at the People frothing at anticipation of one of the worlds biggest convicted tax evaders, a man named by the Judge as being a glib and shameless liar and a man that was on the board that led their club to its death becoming The Messiah at Ibrox. This is a man that about 18 months ago said he would pump in over 30 million to get Sevco challenging Celtic. Looks very much now that he isn't going to be putting anything in and is going to get you suckers to do that for him via another share issue. Think I would have stuck with the rats!

You also seem a decent person but another who can't see the standard of Scotland's Premiership is very poor

Nothing to do with Rangers here as they are very poor just now but still good enough to beat Premiership teams now and again.

You are also another person who is frothing at the mouth at King's imminent arrival and i can't think it's because you think he will be bad for Rangers.

You should maybe withhold the comments about what judges say and leave it for the comments judges will or should be making on the crooks who have tried to destroy Rangers

Something tells me you wouldn't judge these folk the same way.

Like it or lump it King will get Rangers back to where everyone hates them being

  9. you seem a pretty decent guy bilko but can I ask why there seems to be a collective amnesia about Dave king. I cannot comprehend how this character is being portrayed as a messiah. The facts are

He was found guilty of 82 tax offences in South Africa

He was branded a liar by a judge

He owed over £140 million and cut a deal to repay only £40 million of that

He was on the board as was Paul Murray when rangers were liquidated they clearly played a part in their demise

In light of this how are you delighted that a guy guilty of those antics is going to be chairman of your club and how can you see him as a messiah when anyone else guilty of the above is likely to be viewed as a chancer or a crook. I'm generally interested know how someone I regard as coming across as a genuine football fan and decent guy can have blinkers in with regards to this character mate

Do you see all the rats that were running Rangers into the ground in the last 3 yrs and are stil trying too before the EGM?

If we are rid of these rats for good then i will be deilighted so we can rebuild the club.getting representation from the fans groups on to the board

King WILL be the man to lead Rangers back and the one to sort out the mess left by total scumbags who have financially raped the club.

  10. Something of the old firm arrogance in that comment re standard. Quite a few clubs outside of Celtic are capable of playing good football but the pressure of the tight league makes it difficult to do that with any consistency. There are things that could be done to address that though you'll never have a team that never has poor games.

    >>>>You are kidding yourself on if you think the standard is great just now.and talk of pressure in a tight league is head in the sand stuff with regards to the product being served up.

We have so called title challengers selling their best players mid season to a team who would win the league easily without them

The latest contenders were beaten 4-0 last week, game over, title won and now just for the relegation issues to be sorted <<<<<

What is true is there is a huge gap between Celtic and the rest and that I think holds the rest back. Without them you could have a really competitive and exciting league (and that's better for the game than one team which wins most of the trophies).

    >>>>Won't make the standard any better without Celtic and probably would make it worse than it is <<<<<

Re Rangers even if they improve quickly they will still take a long time to catch Celtic if they ever do. With good management throughout the club they should be able to get into the group behind Celtic along with Aberdeen, Hearts, and the like. But a lot depends on good choice in coach and players. Still with the size of their support - even a reduced support - it's hard not to see them challenging with these teams eventually.

However as I said they won't seriously challenge Celtic for a good while and I think this will put a lot of their current support off and they'll start to drift. You never know though, that might be a good thing. A lot of the guys who will drift off will be the worst kind of oldco supporter - the supremacist bigots and glory hunters - and if the proper football supporter type of Rangers fan sticks with/come back to the club then that could be a win for both Rangers and Scottish football.

    >>>>>Rangers won't challenge Celtic for titles for a good few years yet and alot more work needs done rebuilding the club before challenging Celtic.

Moving in amongst the challenger group will happen alot sooner though.

Rangers fans will back the new board and will not go away because of not winning titles.

They know it will be a long road back from where the rats took the club and getting rid of these rats is all that matters to get the club back <<<<<

I can think of one guy who isn't and his initials are MA. (And Thank Feck DK isn't scared of this fat rat)

  11. . Even if King is all he cracks himself up to be, the sevco will be dabbling with mediocrity for a very long time to come.

Mediocrity is all you need to do well in the Premiership

The standard outwith Celtic is poor and don't see this changing anytime soon.

Another season in the Championship would be for the best for Rangers to rebuild a club from top to bottom and the fans will be 100% behind this.

I heard Stuart Cosgrove, a week or two back, say that King could not be deemed a "fit and proper person" to be a director of a football club under ANY interpretation of the SFA's rules because of his fraud convictions.

We will await the banning edict from the Beaks...and wait...and wait.....

Stuart Cosgrove (aka Rangers hater) giving us his impartial view as ever

You get the impression folk are scared of this guy King. :happy2:

  12. Rangers downfall was caused by their failure to address tax issues...how fitting that their saviour is a convicted Tax Fraudster who was on their Board at the time...a true Rangers Man indeed.

As long as money is put in to beat The T*ms, that's all that matters.

    Nobody likes them...no wonder.

You sound sick as a parrot :)

  13. Edited just after kick off when 0-0. It was a question and wasn't meant so seriously, as you can see in my actual post I didn't mention Archie at all, it was more about Stevo not playing and five changes. Didn't think people would take it to heart so much so changed it as it wasn't meant to cause offense.

I stayed well clear of the thread and was leaving it to Thistle fans to debate the Stevenson issue.

When you start a thread title like that there is always a chance it could backfire which it did even though the thread title was changed.

Things are nervy both amongst the support on the forum and those involved inside the club with the relegation issue hanging in the background, so heat of the moment things are said and done but that's normal.

This forum was full of silly threads last week and constant bitching between those in the Archie camp and those who are not and has been like that for quite some time which for me peaked last week with all the negativity being spouted.

Hopefully everyone can move on from this and just enjoy today's result and forget all the negative shit and personal battles for now anyway.

Whatever team Archie picked someone somewhere wouldn't agree with it, but they are all Thistle players and today that team of Jags he picked done the damage.

    Have some faith

Enjoy it boys and girls

  14. Well back in front. Even if all the bottom 4 win today, I still think psychologically, we will be the biggest winners.

As long as Thistle keep winning it doesn't matter about the other 3.

Hopefully no total meltdown on the forum tonight but what a result for the Jags that was to prevent a major one

Well done to the management, players and for the fans who were at Tannadice today.

Some good results last week for the young Jags most notably a 1-1 draw for Thistle's U18's against Celtic at Lennoxtown

Good games to look forward this week with Airdrie who always prove to be tough opposition and it's derby games for the U11's and 12's against Queens Park

Good luck to all the young Jags in their games this weekend.

  16. The buzz at Firhill was evident when Thistle were neck and neck with Morton and going for a title.

Since then i haven't felt the atmosphere has been the same since promotion and it must be difficult to motivate yourself to go and watch survival football which at times isn't pretty.

The fans need to get fully behind the team and encourage them to play the type of football that they are good at and the results will come.

Staying up is everything and i still believe they will do this if the players find that confidence and the form again to play the football they are capable of.
