Seabourne is certainly a step up from trialists such as Magnay and Parsons.
The manager's comments on the BBC website are interesting. "Dan's a very good player, he's somebody we've kept track of since January," said manager Alan Archibald. "When the chance to get him came we grasped it. He's a left sided player at centre half, he's got a good stature about him as well so hopefully he'll add a bit of experience to the squad."
So the management team was scouting Seaborne from when he had just signed for Coventry City from Yeovil Town on an 18 month contract. It is very unusual for us to target a player when he just signed for a new club. If Pressley had not agreed to terminate his contract last week, would the manager have had the money to pay a transfer fee for him?

If you also read some of the write ups in some of the Engerlish Newspapers it also suggests Elvis possibly directed him to us and also educated him on who the 'One Team in Glasgow' is as he had only heard of the Unclean and the Unwashed. Elvis apparently did the job we might have thought a scout would do.

I'll look out my Olde Autograph Book my mum found as she was tidying out my Dads stuff.
Always put my Autograph book into the Away dressing room before the match. All the ball boys that wanted to would leave the autograph books on the treatment table before the away team arrived and collect after the match. Knocking the door to collect it from a grumpy losing team was sometimes quite an interesting experience when they opened the door.

Was just having a look through TTL's Thistle section and came across this new item.
Looks like a cracking version. The thing that used to annoy me about the toffs strips was the badge was too small... This one is spot on.
I had one of those strips in long sleeves when younger and it stretched. Just 'googled' Harry Johnston/Jackie \Campbell to see 'images' of this strip. Hmmmmm, I wonder if its still in a drawer at my mums house. I could NEVER bring myself to throw anything THISTLE out.

Yes, I half expected them to say that they were so far ahead of everyone else in the Scottish Premiership that they were considering a breakawy and were heading to. . . . No, not the English Championship but . . . . . the Scottish Championship !!!

Trip down south would be nice for me since I never managed any previous ones for a number of reasons.
I've always wanted to be able to post a reply like this . . . . . . When I was talking with Alan Archbald last week in (a Secret Location) we discussed pre-season plans.
When I say 'discussed' I actually mean I said "Hello there, howz it goin, are you enjoying a wee holiday with the family?", "You all ready for the pre-season or still planning it?"
I will not disclose his comments as it is not my place to but . . . . . . he did hint on 'looking at something beginning with . . . . . "M". . . . .' (I think but I was not wanting to overstay my welcome when he and his family were enjoying a wee baguette before going on to do family things.
I returned to my seat in the shade to text my friends/family back home of who I'd just had sit just a couple of tables away. The folk next to me had already 'googled' him to see if I was about to make a t!t of myself when I said "Look it's Archie, I'm going to go and say hello" They thought I'd been in the sun too long and hallucinating!!
Sorry for being a tease but he did say where he was looking into so I don't think it was a definite at all.
It was nice to see him with his wife and kids chilling out.

Loved that photo, that was the season before I was taken along by my late dad. There are a good few players in there I managed to watch and admire and idolise in my early years as a Jags fan
and its those memories that are always there even in the bad times. Firhill for Thrills and it must have been about that time the team came out the (centre) tunnel to this tune
Two observations:
Bobby Lawrie must be standing on a BOX on the back row as I remember him as fairly short.
and this was before "Nobby" Clark was known as Nobby Clark (or was that censorship in the 70's?)

Not so sure someone from The Justice League of America would be a good choice though. Perhaps someone from the Marvel World's Defenders might be better.

Watching ALBA just now and just had to post. . . . . . whilst every other striker in the Premier league has a clear aim of gaining a 'penalty' and diving at any opportunity I would congratulate DOOLAN on his determination to score today rather than lie down when faced with the defenders on the edge of the box! (He did get a wee knock on ankle and a lesser man/H*n/tim/arab would have dived).
Bet no commentators mention his positive attitude !

Nothing soft about the penalty, in fact it reminded me of the Scottish Cup last year v Dunfy. As soon as the striker is goalside of the last defender you cannot catch him in any way or you'll be off, double trouble if he goes down in the area. The real sickener is that they score two late goals and the press get to write it up as a comprehensive victory.....when it was anything but.
Hmmmmmm, yes its so much like de ja voooo, we see the goals were in what we used to call, "scoring in rangers time" and then to try to patronise us all the powers at be changed it to "time added on" (in order to let they b@$tards to score!). Sometimes referees would get extra brownie points if they could manage a penalty in that time also.
Lets focus on ourselves scoring tomorrow (and I'll accept a soft penalty, a late goal, or an Aberdeen og!)

I just hope none of the team read some of this pi$h and negativity. Try to remember we are Jags fans and have been through tough times on more than a couple of occasions and came through it with sheer determination to succeed and survive. Some quite depressing posts especially when the playing staff themselves will have been bursting their gut this last week to try to put on a performance they, and us, will be proud of.
Get behind them, MOTIVATIONAL SPEECHES and SELF BELIEF are needed.
We can make Sunday the start of a run of good luck so lets be positive ffs!!!!!!

Excellent highlights on BBC ALBA. . . . . I had expected the routine two or three minutes but it was 40+ mins.
Loved it !
