I can't copy and paste for some reason, however if you go to the news archive section on the official website there is an club statement dated 17 March 2014 regarding the incident.

Partick Thistle Football Club is hugely disappointed to report that a supporter was ejected from the Jackie Husband Stand during Saturday’s game having allegedly racially abused a Partick Thistle player.

The incident was dealt with very efficiently by both our stewards and Police Scotland, with the man in question swiftly removed from the stadium. He is now subject of a Police Scotland investigation in which the Club will cooperate fully.

Partick Thistle is committed to combating racism, bigotry and all other forms of unacceptable conduct and works closely with Police Scotland, as well as organisations such as Show Racism the Red Card, to help combat this kind of behaviour.

Partick Thistle does not accept racism, sectarianism, homophobia or bigotry of any kind and anybody found to be using such language will be ejected and banned from attending games in the stadium. There is no place for bigotry at Firhill.

  2. excellent read - well spotted.

    Good work from Dan

Surprised they found Firhill so cold though they must never have been to Ice station Broadwood before - not that is one cold stadium

True, I've never been so cold at game, some cup game ten or so years ago I went as a neutral. Broadwood is ten mins away from me

I envied the players on the park.

  3. I think there are probably 2 areas that he could improve on. One is his shooting - it is usually pretty weak, although today's attempt in the 1st half was quite good. Secondly is his strength. I think he is weak in challenging and gets brushed off the ball too easily

Agreed, but should he improve dramatically in both those areas (a bit like Roy Keane but without the nastiness) then the big boys would come sniffing around and take him away :wall:

MY mate has always stuck up for him when I was decrying him (he will always remind me of the Morton goal) but I've seen the light and now realise what an asset he is to the team, and he always comes across as a thoroughly decent guy.

  4. Sat at this end during the Hamilton game

There was about a 50yr old man sitting in the middle of it, effing blinding and swearing at the ref. His wife had some riddy.

A bit of decorum in the Family Section should go without saying

  5. While I have no idea how those games will end, the following two are tough as they get, away to the Sheep and T**s

Saturday the 11th of April at home to Motherwell will be the crucial test to see if we're able to dine at the top table next season.(depending how M'well perform in the games leading up to the 11th)

Need to have a result like the Morton one three years ago.

    Oops 2 years ago

    thanks AG

  6. I grew up in Drumchapel and as kids the Forth & Clyde canal was always referred to as The Nolly.

Someone asked me today why it was called that and I had to admit I didn't have a scoobie.

Anyone know where the name comes from?

    Liar!

I know for a fact you lived in America about 100 years ago and had dealings with two guys called Hayes and Curry

  7. Winning ugly by grinding out a result like St Johnstone did last night will do for me.

There's a time for attractive football, this Saturday isn't one of them.

  8. Anybody remember anything about a Fire in the dressing room in March 1985 ?

Was sent this picture dated March 1985

    Firhill_Dressing_Room_March_1985.jpg

    I remember it.

Was in the Brigade at the time, my Sub Officer was at the job (fire) told me he did his best to keep the damage down to a minimum

The guy in the picture looks like he's just turned up to clean up after the fire (Stop Duty) as he's still looking pristine.
