    No contest.

I found it strange, though, that Thistlebright's (??) conversation with GC's cousin (referred to on another thread) made reference to Erskine and Doolan having been identified early on by GC as disposable (or something similar)  and yet GC maintains that Doolan didn't do enough between October and May to be retained. That is not consistent behaviour. Sounds to me that even if Dools had scored 15 this season, GC would still have wanted him out the door.

Gerry Britton didn't do himself, GC or the club any favours with his statement the other night hat 'maybe it could have been handled better'.

    That was crass.

    “Joe Cardle signs”

  2. the point you asked me was if I had thought it through. I hadn’t. It was what the manager told me. He’s obviously thought it through.

Yes, I do agree with that assessment.

And even if I didn’t, Gary Caldwell has 55 caps for Scotland, in the Scotland hall of fame and has won trophies north and south of the border.

The boy has the credentials and credibility to make these decisions

You didn't think that through before you posted, did you?

We don't need mindsets as a greatest asset - we need delivery on the park.

Look at what happened to Kris Doolan.

His mindset is an example to us all - even after his rejection from GC.

I didn’t think it through . I’m just saying what Gary  told me when I asked him.

As for Doolan, Caldwell has said on record (watch the video when it comes out) that he didn’t feel Kris had contributed enough to the team since October. Kris wanted to keep on playing professionally and didn’t want to become a coach and so he left.

  4. GC and positive fan support definitely played a role in him staying

im told that even when injured or left out, he is in the dressing room encouraging others and cheering them on

GC thinks his mindset is his greatest asset

  5. Things I noticed at the meeting

GCs presentation to players on his day one was shown. He literally set out his standards and stuck to them

He mentioned Klopp and Guardiola a lot. Clearly his heroes.

His first criterion for signing a player was their character, mindset and attitude. Other things came later

Many Klopp interviews showing that when he first meets a potential player, they never discuss football, just life.

He showed his outlines of each player type he wanted in January 2019 and then literally turned it into a quiz . The screen showed the attributes he wanted and he literally asked us: “right who is that then?” And we knew right away

When Ally Roy’s name came up, the crowd made a few noises. He looked and said “well, I cannae get them all right”

He made several self effacing remarks about PowerPoints and joined in at laughing at himself

He said that his girlfriend slags him off for his dull and boring interviews where he doesn’t actually say anything. He says he’s in game mode and doesn’t want to give the opponent any advantage. He told the story of being burned by this at Wigan and asked fans to support this as well. See the Frank Lampard derby song as well

He was honest about Couleybaly. When we spoke I said we were glad to know the truth now but I encouraged him to keep secrets from the fans if ultimately it helps the club at the time ... he can explain later

On that point, the SFA have forced the club to never comment on the Doolan ghost goal. I’d love to see that letter one day

Caldwell seems like a genuinely nice, caring man who wants to learn and improve himself and this club. I’ve no doubt he’d want the Celtic or Scotland job one day.

But he has a mean streak and is tough . He has 55 caps for Scotland and has played in champions league and won the FA cup. He does not mess about

Given his sense of humour we really should have a song about him.,.,, where is Manpreet??

    “We’re better than you

    We’re better than you

    its on Gary’s PowerPoint

    We’re better than you”

this will be a good season

  6. It is due to the last two seasons

this place ace is miserable and so too is the JH stand recently. It isn’t helping anyone.

its like sitting crying into your pint and then someone arrives and says “ you think you’ve got it bad....”

im not into positive incantations but I do believe that you get what you focus on

    Doom and gloom.

Again, you're hoping he makes a tit of himself and he falls flat on his face.

You moan and moan and moan and moan and moan and moan about there being no communication forthcoming and when they announce this you dismiss it as a 'reactive PR exercise'?

Exactly. To many moaning and groaning fans

Jacqui is a busted flush, i said when she first started out all she cares about is looking good, bullshitting and womans football. She doesn't have what it takes to lead us back up to the top league. I worry more about her and The King Of Spain than i do Caldwell tbh!

Trust me, you don’t need to JL is talented, smart and does not mess about.

she told me that her heart broke for Archie but it’s football and change had to happen.

  9. I know Jacqui personally- not because I’m rich or well connected but because I said hello her at the stadium once.

She is not perfect but she LOVES this club and she will give everything to improve it.

    She’s tough as well

she took phone calls from terrified relatives asking about their friends in Lockerbie knowing full well that the area had been demolished.

she is our chairman and she IS one of us.

Like I say, I sometimes message her on Twitter to ask questions

Do you think the club needs a social media/ supporter contact person?

    if so, tell her that.

its a job I’d love to do

Ok couple of things - the lack of Communications until the last few days from those who run the Club says a lot - funny enough as soon as it looks like we are not to be relegated then its wall to wall coverage - previous to that and despite promises of regular communications - nowhere to be seen - on the  Training Ground - no Official Update since the AGM - again strange given how it was being pushed as the answer to all our problems previously - then nothing - Chinese Whispers to couple of people - but no actual update - so the Poster has a point ref communications - Fans complain on a regular basis regards e-mails being ignored  - but we are now being told to use Twitter ? is this now the Official Club Communications Channel - obviously it has the facility to block people you might disagree with - as for using Press Interviews - our Fans pay for Jagszone - Club should either be using it or its own Official Channels - very few people bother with Newspaper these days - so no idea why we are using these as the main source of putting out important messages to our Fans

Are you being “told” to use twitter??????????

I sit in the JH and hear nothing but complaints, moaning and sighing.

at QoS on Saturday people where there to have fun and support and be entertained. It was a joy

  11. If people think today is a bad day for Jacqui then I invite you to go on twitter and send out a message to her.

Just for no reason at all just to be kind and loving and show her who we are

  12. Jacqui believes in this club and truly wants to help nurture it and make it grow.

Why not message her on twitter. She always replies and tries to give her time.

Shes given me a lot of advice and support.

However, today is the anniversary of the death of her baby daughter Steph.

  13. It seems like the ridiculous ghost goal has gone viral and the wonderful commentary:

”What on earth has he given?”

i encourage you all to drop that that phrase into conversations, daub it on toilet walls, have a t shirt made and bring a home made sign to the next home game!!!!

Squid said to me that the lino only spoke about the throw and seemed unaware there was even a suggestion of a goal.
