Airdrie. Celtic. Rangers. Dundee United
-
For those that haven't read it already this is well worth a read.

That pretty much sums it up for me.

I use Avast and I'm happy with it.
I've heard that Panda Cloud AV, Microsoft Security essentials and Ashampoo AV are all supposed to be pretty good, and they're all free.

It’s called ‘distance-lends-enchantment-to-the-view’ syndrome, fortunately it’s relatively harmless. It probably also manifests itself in you having lots of tartan things in your house to remind of the place you decided not to stay in. and on a day like today, you can say to yourself, “thank fcuk I left that cold, wet, dark sh1tehole of a place”.
For the record, delete 'the highs' and 'the joy'.
Not quite. I, unfortunately, have no rose tinted specs on when it comes to Thistle. Went to my 1st game in 12 years when I was back home for a visit last year. They lost. At home. To Airdrie. I'd still like to be able to go and see them though.
...and there is no tartan in my house. Or shortbread.

Why should you start going back to firhill?
Because you can!
Some of us would love to be able to get along to Firhill again every other week and revel in the highs and lows, the anguish, the loathing, the joy, the despair. I'd probably have a pie too.
-
And while you're at it, The Goombay Dance Band were s**t hot too.
-
Well, if we're moving into solo "artistes": Celine Dion, Alanis Morrisette, Phil Collins.....

Level 42
I read somewhere that they're quite good
Most annoying? First two names to come to mind are Coldplay and U2.
-
One of the reasons that I don't actually post very much (but read often) is that I don't see the team play every week. So I don't believe I'm in a position to criticise, or praise, the players and make informed comments on how the team are performing (although that doesn't stop some people!). I have to base opinions on what I read and hear from various sources, and they vary depending on what I read or who I talk to.
-
Level 42 are one of many examples of a group of technically very proficient musicians getting together and pooling their collective talents to produce shite.
-
As seems to be the running theme this season (mostly due to summer holidays and away games) the show is in need of a commentator as the usual bunch have let me down once again (boo hiss!).
If you're interested, send me a PM.

If Ken Bates turned up now the Board would cut his hand off!
If Ken Bates showed up now I'd cut his nuts off

Is he any relation to Tony "Taxi" Danza?
Same IQ, I'd think.
-
Talking of 1980s bands and singers, I'm sure I've seen Gary Danza around Partick.
Did he have his shirt off!!
-
That's a fair call. Although he did look good in Aussie, he's stacked the pounds on and did have a few injuries while he was there.
-
That would be an interesting one. He looked pretty useful for Brisbane in the A League, and I know he didn't get another contract for Gold Coast United, so he may well be back in Scotland.
From what I saw of him playing in the Aussie league, he could still do a job at 1st Division level.
-
I'll stick something fairly vague about Aussie and Kiwi meet-ups in the next newsmail. See if we can get some idea of who's interested.
If you Aussie fellas want to organise something, PM me (or e-mail me at the Nomads address - [email protected]) with some more details.

I've known Joolz since the days of Blind Allez. I saw him in most rawk pubs around the city centre. I never saw him at Firhill. Perhaps T Cramer Esq of Auckland might shed some light on this mystery as he's also something of an antique.
I'll get my wife to type this for me, as it's difficult to type with my poor old wizened, arthritic fingers.
As I suspect you know, young McKennan, the reason that you've never seen the guitar playing lad Joolz at Firhill is, as someone else has already suggested, that he probably lends his support to the green and white mob from the East End.

The Nomads have got some cash left over from our appeal for sponsorship donations. We've already sponsored Bryn Halliwell's shirt so, as the donations are now drying up, we're planning to put the extra cash into the WAT pot
-
Simon Storey signed for North Queensland Fury in the A League (The club Robbie Fowler's with). Not exactly headline news, but the mention of Thistle made me smile. We obviously got promoted and didn't realise it!
Just as an aside, how minging is that strip?
-
I'd be very surprised if Joolz and Dante are Thistle fans. Alan Thornton, their original drummer, is a big Jags fan tho'.
-
As the flow of funds into the Nomads pot seems to have dried up somewhat, we've had some discussions around whether we should just close our appeal for donations and add what's in there now to the We Are Thistle sponsorship fund. It doesn't look like the Nomads are going to raise enough for any further sponsorship on their own.
Thoughts?

People who walk out of shops or doorways without looking whats coming in either direction. I enjoy standing on them........
Should be 'what's'.
Sorry, was feeling left out. Pedants of the World unite.

As the contact details don't seem to have been updated in several places, including the Official Site (despite being contacted several times to do so), can I just remind anyone who is interested in signing up as a Nomad, or needs to contact us for any other reason, the contact details are now:
Contact: Tam Cramer
