Absolute nonsense to say he didn't want the job. He never once said that.

Classic sign of someone losing an argument when they just start making things up.

He wanted the job as soon as Jackie left.

Get facts right before spouting nonsense.

    100% spot on.

  2. Gave up reading this thread in its entirety so apologies if this point has already been made. How much would it cost to terminate Archie's 1 year rolling contract (and those of Paterson and McKenzie) and how much would it cost to

Get a new manager in? Add them together and ask yourself "is there a manager out there who is a viable candidate for Thistle who is so much better than Archie that he's worth that expense"?

Given Archie is showing just as much potential as the team, unsurprisingly also making what many consider to be obvious mistakes from management and players, I'd say no there isn't. Looking at the big picture, and resisting the obvious knee jerk reaction, I am very excited about the future of my club for a change...preferably in the premiership but if not so be it.

  3. I've always thought that corners should be brought into the game more. To attract more attacking football, if a game ended in a draw, then the team with the most corners gets an extra point or even the 3 points. I certainly think it would get teams to attack each other, rather than sit in and try defend a 1-0 lead or if the game is level with 15 min left, then attack the shit out of each other.

    Ha, quality satire right there.

can't comment about the northy meets the main stand incident, never saw or noticed that, but approaching bottom of firhill road police wagon came shooting down the road from ground with blues and twos going, and stopped just before the lights. while didn't see the incident, as i walked by, heard one guy saying to 3 police around him "wouldn't you react if someone swung a traffic cone in your face", while in the wagon it appeared to be a guy sitting in one of the seats with another few police around him. we didn't notice colours on either, so can't say who supported who.

also in comparison to last week, did notice that there seemed to be police blocking off most streets and cars parked exits onto firhill road.

Aye a guy tried to set about another guy with a cone, the guy in dark clothes got it in the face but it was more a toss than swinging the cone. He then, to what I saw, started swinging punches at another guy then got chased by the polis.

Anyway, upshot is the 'babyshed' are claiming this one. Earlier, further back on firhill road about 6 'babyshed' squared up to them then it seemed to die down. Then the 'babyshed' (apparently) run down and started it off again. Handbags really.

Like not taking Taylor off today when he was knackered, putting on Muirhead into a position that drives us further back ....oh and ever putting Elliott on a football park....yes those decisions

Will give you the Taylor point, but am no buyin your other 2.

  6. I agree the board won't sack Archie but he needs help IMO

He has brought in 3 players do far in January so is getting support from the board

But he has to accept responsibility for some if his decisions

Like the decision to take out the attacker in the box? The decision not to chase down the rebound? Those decisions?

  7. Two guys came out the north stand and barged into a group of killie fans 3 of them must have been no more than 16 then the two guys decide to shout abuse at killie fans (male and female both in their 40s). Very embarrassing and the police got involved for a bit but Jst sent the two guys on their way after telling them to calm down. Not the image you wanna see from our own fans.

Don't think he was talking about that incident. There was some handbags swinging further down the road, dealt with swiftly by the police.

  8. Would like to see a 3-5-2 formation tried:

    Fox

    Gabby Experienced new guy Muirhead

    Frazer/Welsh Banzo

    SOD ATS

    Higgy

    Doolan Taylor

Lot of scope for change with the bench we'd have, playing style doesn't need to change much but would offer cover in defense and more options in attack, could also change the formation very easily.

  9. Think you hit all the bases there...The Rangers fans have been saying all this for a while. Bullshit then, bullshit now, bullshit forever.

Hatred? Bigoted? Come on, wind it in a bit eh. The discussion is on rangers, are you meaning every time rangers being built on religious bigotry is mentioned we also need to mention Celtic religious beginnings? Honest to gawd, your post is full of everything that has pissed me off over this whole comedy fest.

  10. If we take GGC at there word that leaves the question of segregation. If the police didn't want Celtic fans split between the main stand and a chunk of the JHS...and stated Thistle could not do it, then fair is fair. Personally would just have given them the main stand in that case but I'd cut my nose off to spite my face, think the board would be failing in their duties if they done that.

Here's the thing tho, Celtic fans coming out of the JHS would be coming out a different way to fans in the north stand. The fans in the northy would be coming straight out into the throng coming out of the main stand...as happened, didn't it (Was in the JHS so not sure)? Thistle fans from the main stand mixing with Celtic fans from the northy...so why couldn't that have been reversed? That's why I have doubts over the police stating segregation would be an issue.

So if the club misled us on that one, especially if we now consider the paltry number of tickets we got for parkhead, then we as fans have every right to feel very let down. A lot of ifs in that lot tho.

  11.

The club is doing itself no favours by treating ST holders like me differently to pay at the gate fans who hold a voucher from the call off. Either both should be free entry or both say £5 to cover costs. Fair to all who attended the call off.

What about season ticket holders who got a, or several, vouchers...what you think they plan(ned) to do with them?

£10 might have been fairer, but I feel £12 is reasonable.

  12. Ok I'll start it. Rumour from the mouth of a Celtic fan to a Jag (not me) that we where getting Balde on loan. That's a belter eh? Does tic a lot of boxes tho and could be something in it being linked to ATS deal.

    Go.

  13. I'm not sure what the problem is. You're all generally a bunch nyaffs up that end. Why should us genteel people in the JHS have to put up with the nedish behaviour of the 12-16 year olds when they can be right at home on the North end?

You don't even realise how close to the truth that is :D

  14. Well I'm confused. Who say what in which pub then? Clearly not POTM even tho he must've had a guilty conscience...sorry POTM, all I can come up with as Ian's post was cryptic enough for me not to think of any individual he is questioning the behaviour of.

Handbags away and back to subject at hand. If onethistle need a hawn wi this goes a shout.
