  1. Does anyone know if there is a Paul Mckay on this forum or indeed know he is.

Recently met a family member of his who wanted me to say hello to him at a jags game but unfortunately i dont know who he is/ or who you are if your reading this Paul.

    Thanks

  2. Everyday of the week that was pen...in fact if it had been today at the other end of the pitch with griffiths or such going down it would have been.

How anyone can say scottish football isnt corrupt is beyond me. I know we didnt play great for an hour or so but that doesnt justify not giving a decision that should be.

  3. Anyone on here a plumber or could they recommend one?

Looking to get the cold water tank in my flat repaired or replaced.

Straight forward setup of cold water tank sitting on a rack in my hall cupboard directly above my hot water tank.

    Cheers

is it just the black plastic header tank mate?

  4. I am trying to register on the online site so that I can purchase 2 season tickets, but when i go through the registration process it won't accept my password. It only asks for 8 characters and can be numbers or letters but it doesn't matter what i use the site wont accept it, anyone have any idea why?

    Thanks

  5. Only thing that worries me is that if he see's out the full contract, that will be nearly 7 years in charge at the club. Sometimes staleness can creep in with the same guy in charge. Still I am happy and will be more happy when we ensure top league football next season. I think we will see a different team, attack wise, next season. We got off to a horrific start this season and he really had to ensure the back door was locked to try and get points on board. He did that, but it certainly compromised the attacking edge to our game

yip...because Alex Ferguson's 29 years proves you dont want to keep a manager too long

  6. I don't think we have seen any new bodies through the gates, and if there were, how could we check if it was down to Kingsley? I was just trying to think of a way of thanking someone for doing something positive for us. Maybe he was involved with the Givaways. I don't know, but I don't think they would have happened without his initial involvement. I wont bother replying. Life is too short for negative crap.

    Think you just have

  7. Some chat about Fraser Kerr. Not sure he would pass Archie/shaggy character interview though so am sceptical.

    Really???

Having lived 2 doors along from Fraserburgh since he was 7years old I can assure you there is nothing wrong with the boys character....football ability is something different but on a personal level he is one of the politest , respectful unassuming kids you'll ever meet

  8. To be fair, when Billy McDonald first broke into the 1st team everyone thought he was a great find. However after the first couple of months it was all downhill thereafter. Still wish he had connected with Gazza that time at Firhill though and we'd probably have better memories of him than the Ayr game!

Thanks Will.....thats my nightmare for tonight sorted

  9. Plenty of boys clubs LIB but it's important for me to get one that is coached correctly.

The SFA apparently have lowered the budgets they give to teams and probably would like to create more Regional Academy set ups across the country where teams merge set ups.

Clyde are struggling financially anyway but clubs like Clyde or any club for that matter need their youth set ups and all clubs should invest in their youth.(Imo)

Have you had a look at EKFC Bilko?

This has an academy set up with progression to the 1st team but without maybe a wee bit of the pressure that pro youth brings.

message me on here or pm if you think your son would be interested

  10. Trained with Morton and done well but he still would have the same problems with the dual age group and probably won't get decent game time.

We left on good terms and he can go back in again in the future if we want to.

The travelling is difficult and it's a big commitment to take on to be honest.

We were waiting to hear from Clyde to go in for pre season training but that's also now a non starter, so I think his best bet is boys club football for a season at U16's then see where he is with his physical development to maybe get back in next season at U17's pro youth level

It's a tough choice between getting little game time but training at a higher standard in the pro youth set up or getting game time at boys club level where the standard is not so good.

Obviously I get his thoughts on what he wants and I need to protect him a bit from getting too many rejections in case he loses all interest in playing and to be honest at the age he is at it's easy for that to happen.

I agree with most of your points but would also point out there are plenty of fantastic boys clubs out there and some with excellent facilities. One of the clubs I set up is pretty much a pro youth set up without being called that...if you see what i mean,.

Where abouts are you based Bilko?
