  1.

Questions that need answered IMO. Archie was undefeated and won the league in his first year, got us to 10th in our first season back, improved that to 7th last season. His reward for that has been his budget being slashed. Mindboggling!

Season ticket sales down this season & club posted a loss for last year end = less £ this season.

No axe to bear with the board, plenty of axe to bear with those that could have bought a season ticket and haven't. This is our club, boards will come and go but we will still be here regardless of them. We might be in Div 1 or the Championship but we will be alive and the majority of us will still be here caring about the team and our position in Scottish football no director can lay claim to that. Don't use the board as an excuse to put your hand in your pocket if you do your only looking to someone to do what you haven't.

    Spot on.

Helmet on and strapped in for what you spineless swine? You clearly don't go to the games so what are you concerned about?

I guess you dined well for the split second we got promoted then just resorted to type the day after.

On what basis can you judge this season to any other since you probably couldn't find Firhill let alone an away ground with Sat Nav.

Do us all a favour and put yourself out of your misery by cutting the tie emotionally as well as financially we won't be any worse off.

Well said Metz. TLB is another roaster telling us how great a fan he's been since 1876 but seems to forget that the last 3 seasons are among the best we've had in our history.

  4. I think we are going way, way over the top regarding this pitch. There were two unfortunate injuries on Saturday but that is hardly a sample size large enough to deduce artificial is inherently bad and dangerous to play on. I'd be interested to see injury rates at all our clubs who play on these surfaces at the last few seasons. I just there looked at the findings of a Norweigan study over three years on this issue which found no discernible difference between injuries on grass and artificial surfaces for both matches and training.

Let's also remember UEFA are happy for games to be played on artificial surfaces, including Champions League finals. Many leagues around the continent use these surfaces and even the best grass pitches now include synthetic elements in them.

Personally I'd welcome a move to an artificial surface at Firhill if it increased our revenue.

I'd favour an artificial pitch at Firhill if it would give us financial and footballing ( ability to play our passing style ) advantages. Safety, playability of the surface and maintenance costs are key considerations imho. Also how many 'better' players wouldn't want to sign for a club with a plastic pitch? Are there much sturdier grass types that we could use in an improved grass pitch which would serve the same purpose as an artificial surface ?

  5. Surely there is a Health & Safety aspect to this.

Employers have a duty of care to their employees. This appears to be lackng as regards artificial pitches .

I think it is time for players to refuse to play on them .

I understand all artificial surfaces are subject to FIFA approval and assessment and must meet safety standards etc. The key issue is prematch surface preparation to ensure it isn't 'sticky'. Was Hamilton's pitch prepared properly prior to the game?

  6. I think you're all being too harsh on the boy. He writes an article on Thistle and he gets his name in a fanzine. Maybe he has ambitions to be a journalist. Good on him. It's reasonably well written. I don't agree with a word of it but he has to start somewhere, and maybe a controversial piece is a good way to get recognised.

Pretty much in agreement with all of that. Not sure the intention was to be controversial but rather it seems an honest view as he sees it. The boy makes a number of points well worth debate. Tom Hosie's reply pretty much nails it though.

  7. ^^^ first half was a shambles. Wrong team selection, very lacklustre and far too many errors. They could have been 5 up. A much better 2 nd half and a great save from their keeper cost us a draw. Higgy so out of form at the moment it's unreal. Taylor and Dools together looked a decent pairing.
