Updated a page from 1958 when we lost a Scottish Cup Replay vs. Motherwell 0-4.
Two interesting things Ken Brodie our left half was actually a goalkeeper and where was Maryhill Central train station ?

I think i still have a half stub ticket for that game that my auld jag supporting Zio kept.
i think you should highlight it to the 'off the ball' crew as it contains film of the most quoted player in their teams of the weeks , Tommy Ring.
That's funny already did with Cosgrove.

On this day in history we beat Hearts away with Tommy Ledgerwood scoring while injured http://partickthistleahistory.wikifoundry.com/page/v+Hearts+%28A%29+Nov1950
Also happy birthday to former Thistle stars Andy Roddie, Derek Johnstone and Darren Brady.

It would be great if players were described in that style in today's programmes!
Some great turns of phrase:
"dour and very effective"; "tackles judiciously"
"Should develop into a top-notcher."
"the heftiest man in the eleven"; "Uses his cranium"
"took the Firhill shilling"
"has the bad habit of shooting wildly"
All brilliant!

"Should develop into a top-notcher." - Stuart Bannigan
"the heftiest man in the eleven"; "Uses his cranium" - Gordon Rae
"has the bad habit of shooting wildly" - John Baird

Right old-timers need help naming the players in this pic from season 1971-72 when our reserves won the 2nd XI Cup.
Donnie McKinnon (top off) ? and Jackie Husband so far..

Rather brilliantly the council gives 1am licences to 'restaurants' but not pubs, so yeah, midnight closing.
But the Monkey sell Pizza !

I wanted to post a link to a great picture of him in action, from stuthejag's history site, but I can't get onto the site. Anybody else have problems with it?
The company that hosted the site has been taken over and the server is being switched over, should be back up soon (I'm told..)

^ What a tease.
i'll guess Aleck Raisbeck.
You would be right, he scored from what sounds a soft pk. Match Report here,

Always used the Fir Park Club across from the Main Stand, apart from the picture of the baked bean, I think it does a decent pint.

First Thistle player to ever score at Firhill ? Yip I know and should have it up on my-site tomorrow..
-
I've added my list of 'live' televised Thistle games to my web-site.
Would I be right in thinking the Rangers game in the League Cup at Firhill with that Kris Boyd goal was televised live ?
Any others I have missed ?
-
Doubt it, I noticed web-site before offering live coverage of all the pre-season's game lol
