  1. Haven't seen us much in recent times.

Thought Carrol was okay, McMillan also was alright too. Osman impressed me a lot, and was my Motm.

First half an hour I thought we were in total control. Higgy looked in the mood, Lawless looked lively, Banzo was dictating the game and Carrol and McMillan were getting up the line to good effect. All the midfield were giving Doolan good support, and when we got the goal I thought, at that point, that we would go on to win the game comfortably. We drifted out of it for the latter part of the first half, but St Midden offered absolutely nothing so I wasn't worried at all really. Altho me and my mates all said we would feel a bit better with a second goal.

I was confident we would come out and start the 2nd half in the same manner we did the first, and just blow away a very poor side.

For some reason, we played the entire secnd half in the same manner that we finished the first. Banzo and higgy drifted out of it, and Doolan was very isolated.

I don't know if St Midden made a conscious effort to try to take hold of the midfield, but that's what seemed to happen. Then as the game wore on, it was very obvious that if there was going to be a winner, it'd be them.

I still think we'll stay in the division fairly comfortably, just so long as we don't have too many days like that....

  2. Nice to be 7 points clear of St Mirren and Ross County so early on in the season.

Nothing to get to excited about, but you get the feeling that if roles were reversed then the knicker wetters would have something to say about it......

  3. Clydebank away wasn't it?

It certainly was. Think it was either 2-2 or 4-1 thistle, but can't remember which.

Just remember the big man running through early on and just emptying the bankies keeper, and rolling the ball into the empty net while the keeper was lying in a heap on the floor.

What a way to introduce yourself to your new fans! Loved the big man after that.

  4. The same people knicker wetting on here, for that is what it is, are the same people who said we wouldn't get promoted in the 2012/13 season, who said we wouldn't stay up in the 2013/14 season, right up until we did, and even then we stayed up in SPITE of what the management at the club did.

Shockaroony they're now predicting armageddon for the 2014/15 season. Anyone else see a pattern emerging here? I take it they'll just keep predicting the worst until one day the worst actually happens (which it will - we're Partick Thistle, y'know!) and then they can say.....................TOLD YE SOOOOOO!!!!!

It's bloody pathetic. I have concerns about our squad, but have a little faith that the management are capable people. They have shown to be nothing less so far.

    Mon the Jags.

  5. There seems to be perfectly reasonable solutions to these "problems".

The non celtic season ticket is a good idea. It would need a fair bit of ironing out but could be workable. Alternatively, anyone who buys a season ticket for the NS is also given a seat number for the Main stand (in the last couple of sections next to the ns, preferably). This is given at the START of the season and is applicable to any home match involving either of the OF. That way the moves are already planned into the system and the club know well in advance as to what they are.

As for the having the fans behind the dugout? Would it be feasible to move the dugout? Put it in front of the JH. You could even build the new dugout into the first couple of rows of the stand Like they do at some grounds in England?

  6. Wondered how long it would be before Twechar was brought up.

Did anyone at the time really take the idea seriously? The club's finances were an absolute disaster back then, with the chairman admitting that we were budgeting for a loss every year.

The idea of Twechar was pure fantasy - the very thought that we could afford to build a state of the art training facility from scratch was, to put it mildly, grossly unrealistic.

Always thought the idea was put out there to answer the critics who labelled that particular BOD as unambitious.

Was really a question about the location, more than anything else.

  7. Is it really that important that any training facility is close to Firhill? Is it of any more benefit really?

Not as if Lennoxtown is remotely close to parkhead and murray park isn't next to ibrox or anything?

Similarly, twechar is a fair old distance from Firhill.

  8. WE could have even lose it in the end. A United clearance fell at the head of Graham and the ball luckily shaded the cross bar.

We have to take a point. Improve the defensive work and take chances.

WE could have even win it in the end. A cross fell at the head of a thistle player and the ball unluckily hit the post.

We have to take a point. Build on the recent good defensive work and , yes, take chances.

    :thumbsup2:

  9.

Erskine, Taylor and Mair not decent? I assume your comment is an attempt at sarcasm or humour. The board has given Archie money to terminate a few contracts and bring in at least five players. If that's not opening the purse strings what is?

Poor kni. First time I've seen an entire thread "whooooooosh" over someone's head.

    Too funny.

    Anyway, Ricky and Chico out!
