I've never, ever understood Booing your own team, and I don't think I ever will.
If I think a player isn't trying a leg, then I'll let him know about it, but I haven't had to do that for a few seasons now.
-
A mate of mine mentioned it. Didn't say where he'd heard it.
As I say I was pretty sure it was nonsense, just wanted to check on here to see if anyone had heard anything about it.
-
I was recently informed that a number (not sure if it's a big or small number) of thistle fans were arrested before the hearts match for carrying knives?
I hadn't heard anything about this, and was quite surprised to be told about it. Usually that type of incident would be mentioned on here. Anyone know anything of this, or is it nonsense?

there was no reason to ban scottish people from drinkin in grounds. the only people who shid be banned are liverpool after what they dun at heysel. police shid take it wae common sense. if teams are being pricks, then dont let them drink. liverpool got every1 tarnished wae their hoolikgan brush. not everyone are scum bags like them
Not the first, and probably not the last, post of utter nonsense from you.

Liverpool have some young strikers who could be available - Samed Yesil (German youth international), Dani Pacheco (Spanish youth international who played against us at Firhill) and Adam Morgan.
Please not Dani Pacheco. Doesn't look interested when he gets his chance in the Liverpool first team so I don't see him being any more enthusiastic with us.
Yesil or Morgan would be excellent, excellent additions, make no mistake about that folks.

Some people need to get out more.

Wonder if he hit it down the middle?

3-1. Job Done.
-
Yes, 2-1!
-
And scores on his debut.

I am certainly no Kris Boyd fan but his booking the other week for his celebration was utterly laughable too. Sounds as if he's been a bit harshly treated more than once.
Conspiracy, anyone?...
Edited to add, I just watched it, and yeah by the laws of the game it's a red card, but it's a really pathetic "punch" and pathetic fall from Goodwin.
-
Not sure about the 1st half, but bbc had the overall posession at 56%-44% in thistles favour.

Thought we played brilliantly.
It was just one of those nights. Doolan will be angry with himself for not scoring that header, but he'll come back from it. We all know what he's capable of.
Only player who i thought wasn't at his best last night was O'Donnell. 2nd half especially I thought he was poor.
Gary Fraser was maybe too over confident trying to dribble the ball out from the back like that, but the guy was immense up to that point.
Balatoni will be kicking himself too. Why he stepped so far to the right I don't know. What a finish from the Hearts boy though, and again, Conrad had a great game up until that point.
We've all watched enough football to know that the team who has just scored is always liable to lose one straight afterwards.
We deserved the win no doubt about it. Felt like a defeat last night, but on reflection, I'd be a lot more worried had it been us that scraped a draw, rather than them.
Good post. I thought O'donnel was excellent in the first half, only his crossing and general distribution let him down a bit. Agree with all your other points tho

Thank you Arch for your reasoned response.
Agreed the big mans all round display was excellent, and he did take his penalty well.
It's simply something that concerns me slightly. Some people seem to be getting very worked up about it tho.

Yeah, delete the thread. ian_mac doesn't agree with it.

The cup final penalty was to the keeper's right.

Watch it again.

Fair enough, maybe I'm wrong. As I said it's not really a big criticism as he scored, but thats the last 3 penalties that I've seen him hit, go straight down the middle.
As I say, the last 3 that I'VE seen him hit...

I would have thought that referees at this level should range from competent to good.
Then you haven't been watching Scottish football very long then, my friend

I fancy us against Motherwell. I hope so too as I work with a Well fan. He says we've got a right good player in Higginbotham too.
-
No fishing from me. A genuine opinion.
There was only really one game-changing decision and he gave it the right way. The odd free-kick/throw in will always be slighlty contentious for either side.
1 big decision to be made, and he got it right. Most certainly not the worst I've seen. Not by a LOOOONG way.

See, do we have to play them once or twice at Tynecastle? Because if we can't do it at home, can we really do it with 25 thousand Jam tarts backing them?
I'm not deliberately trying to be negative, but they were indeed brutal ... and we couldn't beat them.
And I really wanted to buy a newspaper tomorrow to see us top of Scotland for the first time since before I was born ... but never mind that - like I said in the other thread, let's hope we're not regretting those dropped points at the business end of the season ...
Really? 25 thousand?
Weird how some teams can change personell a thousand times, yet still display the same traits as teams/players gone by? Hearts were kick n rush cloggers for me tonight. Something I've always associated them with being.
-
I mentioned this after he missed the one in the Ramsdens cup final, and again tonight the big man blasted straight down the middle.
Either he needs to start varying them or someone else needs to have a go, because keepers at this level will do their homework, and we'll get caught out again before the end of the season, which could be costly.
This sounds like a moan, but it's not. He scored it, and well done to him for that, just.....be careful big fella....
-
I don't mind if we can't quite manage to get there. We're playing football the right way, and causing teams problems as a result of that. Really good performance first half I thought. Faded a bit in the second, but both Baird and Higginbotham looked lively. If only Stephen O'Donnell had a good final ball! (Other than that he was excellent tonight, so can't berate him too much)
Plenty of positives to take.

I didn't think he got too much wrong tonight. He only had 1 really big decision and he gave the stonewall penalty. Can't really find much else to complain about from him.
Bad Luck, Bad Strikers Or Bad Tactics?

From Hibs scoring last night to the final whistle, and probably for about 5 mins afterwards, I was raging. Then I started to think about the game and how we dominated it.
I'd be MUCH more worried if we were getting humped every week. We're not, we're outplaying a lot of teams, but just not getting over the line. That will definitely come, but NOT of we make wholesale changes to either the players, or tactics. A few tweaks possibly, but no more than that.
Why would we go more direct against a hibs side who have played against teams like that for years? Not as if they wouldn't be able to cope with that. But they couldn't cope with our width and movement last night.
Have faith that we're doing the right things (and Doolan always, as most strikers do, goes through some barren spells in front of goal. Then he'll go on a spree and we'll be talking about how many million he's worth again. Strikers, innit?).
It's frustrating, of course it is, that things are so near yet seem so far away at the moment, but I'm more than confident that we'll be fine come May.
