  1. One of my best days ever following the Jags.

Ended up the wrong side of the fence in the shed as the queues outside for our end were horrendous. Like others have said my memory is of the game being a nail biting affair and so nervous throughout. Ended up on the pitch but looking back at that wall from the shed.......how high was that.

Pub crawl from the star to munns and finally The Tavern which was jumping. Ended up in our local pub which was a Celtic one singing "lets all laugh at Celtic" as they had failed to qualify for Europe that day.

I was only 21 and this was my first serious celebration as a Jags fan and by god did I make the most of it :fan::partyhat::crazy:

  2. Let me rephrase that. I think that all Kilmarnock wanted was that one of their home games be played on that date. We are all, hopefully including Doncaster, aware that club finances are fragile. An important anniversary, big crowd etc.. I don't see what's wrong with that request. I bet that Celtic would have got what they wanted.

Completely agree with you. Not an altogether unreasonable request from Killie looking to boost their coffers, relations with fans and hopefully attract more new ones. God forbid any of these are supported by the SPFL.

I can't believe that an organisation can make so many f#ck ups in one day resulting in so much bad press that the head of said organisation could possibly retain his position. But then there is a history of such days passing without any action being taken.

  3. There is also a funny bit about Kenny Sansom that isn't on the online version. Lambie apparently told Gerry to pick up an unnamed player at the clubs digs in Bishopbriggs and take him to training. Gerry waited outside in his battered up £400 Cortina. Out came Kenny Sansom. Gerry couldn't believe it...he (Gerry) was as nervous as hell. Took him to training. After training Sansom went in for a word with Lambie. Gerry waited on him to give him a run back to the Briggs. He came out and Gerry gave him a lift back. Gerry said he would pick him up for the game tomorrow. In a broad cockney accent Sansom said, "Nah, don't bovver mate" He was never seen again!!

Are u insinuating that GB could be involved in some mysterious dissapearnce? Has Sansoms body never been found?

  4. 1. Sitting on the wall at the front of the shed watching the game. Quite scary considering the giant drop for a small boy.

    2. Being made to stand outside munns or the tavern whilst my brothers went in for a pint. No matter what the weather was like!!

    3. Having a fabulous ground with great terracing and atmosphere. Where u could pick what end you went into and even swap over at half time. Loved the old north end terracing in the sunshine.

  5. Neville's latest beauty -

"When the referee puts down the imaginary line...."

    :-) :-)

Nearly spat my beer all over the carpet when I heard him say that. The man is a comic genius.

Can't believe no-one has mentioned the worst co-commentator / analyst ever..... The former Irish internationalist Mark Lawrenson :wall:

  6.

Partick Thistle safe before the final game.

And with 1 game to play.

    Top of the bottom 6.

Top scorers in the bottom 6.

Best goal difference of the bottom 6.

Least defeats of the bottom 6.

And all done playing great football.

    #wegotthis

    Archie's Army.

    Some amazing stats there.

So looking forward to Saturday now and taking my youngest daughter along to her first ever game. We both can't wait

  7. Erm, we are all aware that the top six and bottom six finish on different days? Yes?

It was announced at the time the fixtures came out that one of the bottom six games will be shown live (to be decided nearer the time).

That's why they are all kicking off at 1215 on the 10th.

The top six finish on the 11th.

I stand corrected HW. Thought all games were played on the same day and the 3 top 6 games were on Live.

Agree with others that hopefully it wont be our game that is on and we wont be relying on other results so I can sit and enjoy the game calmly.

  8. No doubt only a hadful of arrests at the game and around it. Police seem more intent on kettling and getting everyone away from the ground. During the game they seem to have a free reign to do what they please.

I'm sure there is the possibility of a few doors being chapped this week and follow up arrests but I would like to see them lifting culprits at the game to show those around them that it will not be tolerated. And I'm not talking about indiscriminate huckling of random supporters. The police and stewards stand and watch groups of them for almost the whole game so they can easily recognise and out the ring leaders and lift them.

  9. Can't believe that all the top six games are on TV on the final day. The bottom six is the tightest it has ever been with every single team involved in the battle (OK Obviously Hearts are down but they are involved).

The last day of the league could be one of the most exciting for years and the TV companies are ignoring it. Unbelieveable. Do you think they'll ignore it in a few years time when The Rangers are fighting to avoid the drop?

  10. Totally agree with Yoda, fill the JHS with them , give the north stand ST holders their places there ( me included ) and allocate the main stand and any other area to JHS ST holders first followed by tickets for whats left and I'm sure we could fill the stadium this time around, and after all, at the last game, it was us North stand fans who were moved .

Some of us JHS Season ticket holders were moved too for the last game. My seat was right in the demarcation zone between us and the Celtic fans so I had to move. Opted for the Main Stand out of nostalgia but might just move to another seat in the JHS this time.

Although in saying that I'm not adverse to Yoda's suggestion of giving them the entire JHS and keeping everyone together.

  11. Discussion on Sportscene last night around when Celtic will win the league this season. One of the possibilities, depending on upcoming results obvioulsy, was that they could win the league at Firhill on the 26th.

I seriously hope this isnt the case and we have to witness them partying in our stadium. I know they wouldn't be presented with the trophy that night but still not a nice thought.

Oh and this isnt a Celtic hating or bashing post. They've won the league and deserve to celebrate and party just not keen on it being at Firhill and being there to witness it.

On a related note has it been announced if the same criteria applies for this game as the last game. ie we get shifted to the main stand to allow them the north and part of the JHS:?

  12. Quite enjoyed my visit to the Main stand. 1st time in about 15 years since I've been there. Got in at about 12:15 and queued for food. Served about 20 minutes later. so dread to think what it was like at half time.

Was sitting in line with the penalty box city end so was just to the right of the section that had the Celtic fans declaring themselves after their first goal. Think they left after a few Jags fans told them in no uncertain terms where to go. Did not see one steward make a move towards them or even acknowlege what was going one.

Loved the view of the JHS almost full. Thought it looked superb.

Do the Celtic fans stand throughout the game at all away grounds? not one of them was seated the whole game. Not a problem with this just wondering.

  13. A lot of threads about the Celtic fans getting the north stand and part of the JHS and the feelings about this etc.. However I've not seen anything so far about what is happening to the season ticket holders in these stands and specifically what section of the JHS are being moved, Apologies if I have completely missed a thread about this but how can I find out if my seat in the JHS is safe and if not what do I do about getting into the game? Do I have to get a separate ticket or can I show my season ticket card at the main stand?

  14. Thought we lost our shape for a little while after their goal and was delighted to hear fans around me screaming for the players to get it down and play to feet and play our passing game. In the past we would have been screaming for balls long into the box. If there's a better passing team in this league I've yet to see them. Some of the passes today were superb.

  15. Mine didn't work at all and the fella in the booth noted my seat number and duly let me in.

Earlier in the day I found out that the CIA have eventually admitted to their awareness of Area 51. I'd naturally appreciate if one of the more cerebral posters on here could help alleviate my obvious concern that these two occurrences are connected. I'm in no way an alarmist but I'd still welcome some reassurance.

sad to say the connection is obvious. The CIA are given the data from Firhill, get your details, see that one of their captured aliens has escaped and is attending Jags home games so therefore decide to come clean before you spill the beans on them. Pretty obvious really.

  16. Must confess that, sitting in the JH Stand I have been blissfully unaware of it both last season and this. Is it only audible in the stand behind the goal.? Don't like the idea which seems imported from US sporting events and is surely alien to us Maybe I need another hearing test?

No. I sit in the JHS just on the half way line about 7 rows from the front and I heard it clear as day. Every time it was played (and it was a good half dozen) all around me looked at the tannoy speaker in disbelief and shook their heads in disgust.
