  1. Sorry to hear this.

Maria used to come into the works, to see how we were getting on, along with George Galloway. Both were local Labour MP's at the time, it was many years ago.

Maria Fyfe was pretty much universally well thought of, liked and respected. Which says a lot as Clydeside workforce's have never been easily impressed.

    RIP Maria.

I think Andy Mac knows that. He's said that other posters are JLow.  Unless he thinks JLow has multiple accounts,  which I suppose is possible.  McO can't be JLow.  She can spell properly.  Turned me off Scally, though.

    That's a lie Jacqui.

You're just making stuff up :D

Because of his proven track record.

Besides, Scally has talked sense whenever I have heard him and lets be honest, any manager with a proven track record that we could get is going to be pretty crap. The only way we will get a decent gaffer is by taking a risk on someone unproven. There has been lots of posts requesting that we go for young players from Juniors or academy, so why not also give a young manager his chance, assuming that those making the appointment think he is upto the job.

I would say it's pretty certain that "those making the appointment" will "think" Scally "is up to the job".

    Wouldn't you agree Jacqui?

How about this as a plan. Get rid of McCall and Archibald and give the job to Scally. I think that he has talked sense whenever I've heard him

    Sounds like a plan Jacqui.

    Just one question though.

Is Scally any good with a power point?

    This

Since he has come back, McCall has been awful. Caldwell my have been crap, but he did manage to avoid relegation and managed to raise the game when it mattered most. This relegation is 100% his fault. Those who blame the board may be right that they could have played the cards better, but just remember who dealt them the hand to play.

Time for him to go and social distancing is just one of the reasons I won't be there to wave bye bye

    So very true Jacqui.

Life has dealt you the cruelest of hands.

It was David Beattie that hired not only the dreadfully gammon-esque Ian "McCall", but also re-hired your "brother" Archie, the "family" member you had sacked the previous year.

  6. Everything everywhere is in a state of flux at the moment. I am far from convinced that all the clubs are going to survive, I think a good few are going to go under before this nightmare is over.

The important thing is that our club survives the economic carnage that's increasingly unfolding before our eyes. That (imo) is what really matters.

Yesterday I reached the ripe old age of 80. At 10am my house received a call from Jacqui Low, unfortunately I was out at the time, but a message was left on the phone. Just after 12o'clock I answered the phone to Jacqui Low who congratulated me on my birthday. We spoke for nearly 20 minutes just talking about the "Jags" Before we closed the call she said she would phone in a couple of weeks just to see how I was getting along in this difficult time, she also said when the footie starts again, she would try and get me up to Firhill for a birthday prezzie. This is why I support Partick Thistle. The Partick Thistle family club. Love you all.

    Many happy returns :partyhat:

Did she mention anything about the land transfer?

Like dogs after a bone. Folk have tried being polite, jokey ways to try to get this to stop. I've had enough. Look up. The whole ******* world is in crisis. People are dying in their thousands. If you're around in a years time then lucky you, resume your point scoring exercise then.  But in the mean time just stop. Make yourself useful. Help someone in need. If you can't do that, just shut the **** up.

This is a forum and if you've "had enough" BB, then fair enough. Nevertheless, no one is forcing you to read this thread and these posts.

Whether the posts are rubbish or not, is open to debate, which is after all is the whole point of a forum in the first place.

What is wrong with so many people these days? Why do so many seem to believe that they have some kind of divine right to shut down any debates, or points of view that they don't agree with?

Respect is a two way street. Everyone is trying to get through this the best way they can.

Not everyone wears their heart on their sleeve and to be honest, telling folk to "shut the **** up" doesn't help the situation one little bit.

I'd pretty much given up posting on the forum  as I couldn't bothered getting into petty spats with people (life is too short) but more on grounds that there are more important issues like Brexit (still to play out) and the climate crisis.   It's a bit surprising that one or two are posting humorous images (each to their own) or others  can be so  fixated with league structures etc.

The World Health Organisation and 229 scientists have questioned the UK Govt strategy which relies on the herd immunity approach whereby millions will have to be infected to, the theory goes, protect everyone in the medium to longer term.   One big gamble from a Government which,  as other posters have pointed out,  is at odds with the approach of many other countries.  The same government (Cummings/Patel/ Gove/Johnston et al) that have dismissed the views of recognised experts and just recently waged war against the civil service that they now desperately relying on.    So may well be talking about tens and quite possibly hundreds of thousands of people perishing.    Factor in the huge economic cost, destitution,  and perhaps social breakdown on the streets...….

Sorry to be so miserable, perhaps if there is something good to come out of this will be that everyone has a chance to reflect on what is important in life, foster a sense of community which has gone by the way-side in modern life and look out for the vulnerable in society after 10 years of austerity.   Lastly,  I'm sure out football club will survive because we will rally round and won't let it sink.    Take care everyone.

Well thank goodness no one's using these tragic events as an excuse to indulge in petty political point scoring.

After the double vote and change of ground sharing rules that promoted ICT and relegated us, nothing would surprise me. Sporting integrity is a phrase they will use a lot, but at the end of the day will it be upheld?

I think they will wait to see what the English Leagues decide, then quickly copy it.

  11. Much is made of Jacqui Low being a Tory.

Let's be frank Jacqui is a chameleon, a shape shifter, an imposter and a fraud.

Jacqui was a Tory when she thought it would help her career. Spin back 30 years and she would have been a fully paid up  member of the "hang em and flog em brigade.

Today; the wolf is wearing very different clothing.  Jacqui is now a tub thump-er for political correctness, she is slowly building up a power base within the club through "using" her special interest groups.

Completely the other way around mate.

Three Black Cats owns a majority of shares in Thistle.

Three Black Cats therefore controls Thistle and Thistle’s assets.

Thistle does not have any shares in Three Black Cats.

Thistle does not control what Three Black Cats does. It has no say at all.

Thistle has no claim or control over Three Black Cats’ assets except and insofar as there is a contractual agreement between the two (e.g. for the transfer of assets from 3BC and to PTFC Ltd).

    To illustrate this.

If Three Black Cats wanted to it could borrow a mortgage against the Bing and Main Stand tomorrow. It would receive the credit and Thistle would receive nothing.

If Three Black Cats then got into financial difficulty, the bank could then sell that bit of the ground from under it. The new owner of said land could then demolish the Main Stand and, planning permission permitting, convert it into flats. Thistle would have no say whatsoever short of objecting to the planning proposal.

If Three Black Cats is to be wound up as part of the arrangements for distributing Colin Weir’s estate, the executors might sell off its land to any Tom, Dick or Harry. Again the Club would have no say. And even if it did... oh wait, Three Black Cats are the majority shareholder and would have control over who its own Thistle shares then get sold to.

For the land to be Thistle’s it has to be owned outright by Partick Thistle Football Club Limited or owned by a corporate entity over which PTFC Limited has a position of control or ownership.

It would be more accurate to say, the majority shareholding for the first time in a long time at Thistle now being held by a single corporate entity, that the Jackie Husband and John Lambie Stands are almost “less Thistle’s” than they were before, because 3BC could now effectively sanction the selling off of the rest of the ground to any entity it liked, including one with no shareholding or direct interest in Partick Thistle.

Thank you for your posts Woodstock Jag.

I wouldn't trust these people as far as I could throw them.

Jacqui Low is a 3 time loser and a serial liar.

The PTFC Trust is a sham organisation and the board of directors are stooges for the black cats.

Whether we go down this year or next, it doesn't really matter, because sure as the sunrise; with these imposters in charge, our club is going to go right down the toilet.  :(

I don't know all the details to be honest. But it strikes me that everything is in a bit of a mess at the moment; between the takeover, the promised transition, and Colin Weir's passing we've been left in a situation of turmoil, where someone had to step up, and that's brought us to this.

I doubt that anyone thinks it's ideal.

    Apart from Jacqui "carpetbagger" Low.

I believe she wants to use the club as a vehicle for her personal gain, not financially but status wise.

She amply demonstrated her leadership incompetence in appointing an egotistical maniac as manager, despite an awful cv and not doing proper due diligence (remember the club were forced to edit their version of Caldwell’s managerial history after a complaint from one of his previous employers). I was told Gerry B pleaded with her not to appoint him.

Despite caldwell being a transparent fraud as a manager my abiding memory of her is being all agog at every pearl of wisdom he uttered, she couldn’t see past him. That in itself means she shouldn’t be anywhere near the club. She clearly knows fck all about football and my fear -should IMC turn things around - is that his style (old fashioned compared to the “modern methodical detailed analytical “ of the genius Caldwell) - is that IMC won’t take kindly to any input from someone he probably doesn’t respect. And if Ian doesn’t turn things around then she will be the one selecting the next manager.

Why any Jags fan thinks Low is good for Thistle is beyond my comprehension. Her performance as Chairman stinks. And when the going got tough she hid herself away, abandoned the promised regular communication with the fans because-quite clearly she lost her bottle. And that from a PR guru!

Right enough, what’s not to like about Low. Mind you some offenders change their ways so maybe it will all be different this time...

    Spot on.

Three Black Cats has also confirmed to the Board that Colin Weir’s commitment to transfer the majority shareholding to fans, creating a fan-owned club, is unchanged.

    so not if but when........

let’s hope the team don’t actually win any games or it will ruin the crescendo of hysteria

    Javeajag.

You believed the fairy tale that the Black Cats would deliver us a training complex.

It must be great to have your faith.

Would you like to buy some magic beans? Or how about the Brooklyn Bridge, or a couple of twinkling stars?
