this pre-and after-show was a great success last year...particularly as Chrissy Boy turned up for a few drinks and subsequently spent several hours signing stuff and posing for photies...so, here's the deal (spookily similar to last year's post on the 2009 event) the lovely people who run Glasgow's monthly Ska Train night are putting on a special evening to top'n'tail yir enjoyment of Madness at the 02 Academy on Saturday 27th. its in a basement pub called Pivo Pivo, in Waterloo St, in the city centre, right next to Central Station, and only 15 minutes straight walk across the bridge to the Academy.....doors open at midday for the pre-gig warm up, with DJs and a live band - "ESPERANZA" - playing Ska/2Tone stuff at 6pm. Then its across the Jamaica St bridge to the Academy, to jump around like diddies for several hours, until.....JUST when the Academy shuts the bar and chucks us out in the cold, Pivo Pivo re-opens its doors to offer more music, a bar till 1am AND FREE PIZZA. Yes, I said FREE PIZZA, Its a quirk of the place.... maybe the bar manager reckons a bit of food in folk keeps them docile or something, but lots of fresh hot pizza suddenly appears after 11. Happens every ska night, and its always very welcome. All that for five quid.....the ticket that you will get in Pivo gets you back in after the gig. What a f**king deal, eh?

ESPERANZA will be supporting THE SKATALITES on Friday 26th November in The Arches. Tickets are £16.50, but can be purchased at the Glasgow Ska Night in Pivo Pivo on Friday 12th November for £12.

Apparently there was an Army recruiting stall outside the stadium and the Smeltic fans were chanting "Brits out" and singing about the IRA. Poor old Captain Mainwaring didn't know what to do.....
