  1. A very simple way to stop the abuse of the under 16 scheme is to ask kids to produce their 'young Scot' cards. As far as I know, every secondary school pupil in the country is issued with one.

They are a form of photo ID and show the holder's date of birth. This would allow us to continue to offer free entry to occasional/'walk up' fans.

  2. Noticed quite a few people at the game yesterday with red and yellow striped 'Yes' badges, anyone know where you can get these?

Cheers and apologies if this has been discussed before.

  3. What evidence? There's been no rise in attendances since kids went free which would be evidence. Market research or opinion before it was launched maybe but it's not evidence.

If anything the kids go free seems to be a bit of a failure.

Rather than saying kids go free is a failure, is it not perhaps the case that crowds would have been even smaller had kids not been getting in for nothing? I've no evidence to support this but it does seem logical that some people would not be here if they had to pay.

  4. FFS, this is unbelievable.. People are trying their best to be creative and come up with some innovative schemes to increase our support but, rather than get behind these plans others appear to be queing up to criticise everything from the name, to the cost, to the long term benefits. Before anyone accuses me, i'm not some happy clappy type. It is really wearing to see every thread that starts off positive, degenerate into petty squabling and nit picking. It was the same with the 'Sell Out Saturday' thread; a couple of posts in and folk were moaning about the name. This seaon looks like being one where we can, at last, offer some sort of challenge, surely we can at least try and be a bit positive?

    Or maybe not

  5. That clown John Brown has stated on Cyde 1 tonight that Newco to Div 1 is a definite; he claims to have the minutes of the SFL meeting yesterday and these support his assertion. Also, he has restated this at a h*n fan meeting tonight and he has claimed that he will sue any SFL chairman that denies it. Mental doesn't even begin to describe it

  6. If on foot, once out of the platform, follow the road (there's a path) south over the railway bridge and it's a straight walk to the stadium (takes about 15 to 20 mins). Alternatively, there should be taxi's at station. There's a bus stop just south of the railway bridge, got no idea of times as I haven't used a bus for years though.

    That's really helpful mate, cheers.

  7. I lisened to the Radio Scotland phone, that Irish guy Tom English, made the very valid point that come the OF game it'll be business as usual. The same old, same old i.e the biggest club game in the world etc. etc. Chick young will be bending over for Alistair the whole football media cr*p stinks.

In fact Scottish football is actually cr*p!

We're not too bad, after all we've always been rotten or thereabouts.

I was listening to that too and I thought that he nailed the problem exactly; a couple of weeks of wailing and gnashing of teeth then back to the same old, same old as soon as the first OF game comes along. It's the same conversation we've had for the last few years and we'll probably be having for the next few. As this quotation, attributed to Einstein, says: "Insanity is defined as repeating the same behavior and expecting a different result".

  8. Fine with me but could we also ban offensive avatars? That's just a general request as I can't think of anyone that would be that half'witted or cretinous to have one.

Yeh, quite right, because using the name and image of some poor old soul driven to suicide after being convicted of shoplifting is all very tasteful.

Aye, you get a rerr view from the moral high ground.

  9. Anything past and including falkirk are northern teuchters and edinburugh aswell.Anyone who refers to people from glasgow as weegies n says the word ken is a teuchter.Anything apart from west of scotland/bit of lothian

Let's be honest, if your postcode doesn't start with a 'G' then you're a Tuechter.

  10. [steven H on 29 April 2010 - 07:22 PM said quote]If people choose to stay away from Firhill then they are putting this club in danger, its as simple as that. I aint disrespecting their choice merely stating a fact.

It is not the people who are staying away from home games who are putting the club in danger, but the people who have been mismanaging the club for the past few years. This must have been a very difficult decision to make, for someone that I know has attended regularly for the past eighteen years. Why on earth would someone continue to pay sixteen pounds on a regular basis for something to make them miserable. This is not disloyal or being a fair weather fan, but, sadly, a sign that a lifelong fan has sadly reached the end of his tether. I am pretty sure that he is not alone in coming to this decision, I am sure plenty of others have done likewise, however it is my view that the people that should be the focus of any fan criticism are those that have created this situation rather than those who have reacted to it.
