Interesting article on stv page about spfl stats
Average possession: 50.38% (4th overall)
Shooting accuracy: 46.04% (3rd overall)
Shot conversion: 9.61% (11th overall)
We need to practise our shooting by the look of it.

Would like a ball winning midfielder in the transfer window but they are hard to come by, dont see Welsh as the answer (if he ever gets fit). I would be happy to be proved wrong by Welsh.
-
When we started this season i said I would be extremely happy if we finished 10th. We are still in a position to achieve that goal. Granted we need to start picking up some more points but its well within reach.
-
Couldnt make the game last night but listened to it online. From what I heard SOD was terrible last night, nervous and lacking confidence. They were saying that our midfielders were being bullied by the St. Johnstone players and we couldnt cope.

Will be interesting to see Higginbotham and Erskine in the same team, both are "off the cuff" players but Erskine has more of an end product.
-
Can't see Archie making too many changes for this game.
-
No wonder Rangers are losing £1 million a month if players like Dean Shields is on £7000!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
The Sun has us linked with a loan for Dean Shields.
-
Kevin Thomson has been told he is free to leave Hibs. Would suit our style of play, good passer of the ball and likes to put his foot in. Wages might be a struggle though.
-
Eveningtimes has us linked with a loan move for Dylan McGeouch from Celtic but Bob McHugh is not one of Archies targets
-
Not sure why they had Rob McLean doing the commentary on Ross County game on Sportscene as he was at Parkhead for Radio Scotland. They got Bannigans name wrong when he had the shot, infact pronounced it as Balatoni. It is a terrible show, better off with the highlights on Youtube
-
Piccolo, Muirhead and Balatoni all start today.

Nobody said Celtic would loan Watt to us. i said that if available then I would take him.
-
If Tony Watts available I would like him at Firhill, bit of an idiot but we have had our fare share of them over the years. Both his goals against Mechelen are decent finishes.
-
An experienced Centre Half is a must in the transfer window. Has Andy Webster got a club yet? Someone like that would be good but comes done to availability and wages.
-
Pleased with that signing, would like us to play 2 forwards. I liked the way Motherwell set up against us with a 3-5-2 formation.

Decent Team performance. Good to eventually get a clean sheet but still not taking the chances that come our way. Subs didnt change much and still dont see what Forbes brings to the team. Our freekicks and corners have been awful this season

Decent sum of money for someone who can leave for free in the Summer. ATS has developed into a good player but does need to work on quite a few things to make the step up i.e Crossing, right foot and positioning.
-
Better defensively apart from the corner that led to the goal. Piccolo was reading the game well at times. Still no spark in the final third of the pitch. The commentator mentioned we were in for Kris Boyd and John Sutton over the summer.

The step up in divisions is a bigger one than people think. Teams are faster, stronger and have better fitness levels. We have the lowest budget in the league and it does show. We have 2 first team strikers, 3 centre backs and 1 leftback at the moment. The squad we have means we are unable to make drastic changes to the team when needed. Against Utd their centrebacks (Soutar especially) were able to carry the ball out as the other defenders only had Doolan to mark, this enabled them to have an extra man when attacking.
-
If Mcmillan is not fit does it mean Muirhead at RB and Piccolo at CB? Think this is going to be a really tough game but Utd do like to play football on the deck as opposed to long ball a la St.Mirren so might be more room in behind If so we need to start taking these chances
-
In the first few games he looked decent, better passer that Welsh but doubt we will look to extent his long (if we can)
-
I agree that the midfield needs freshened up but cant see Archie dropping his captain so i think it will be osbourne/welsh sitting deep. i would drop Bannigan and play Elliott on the left.
-
Great to see him called up, deserves it after some excellent displays this season.
