  1.

    He does things like that.

He can be slow, he can miscontrol the ball countless times a game, misplace loads of passes, look like the most incredibly awkward player ever and then he pulls an absolute moment of magic out of the bag that justifies the entrance fee alone. Booing or abusing him won't affect him in the slighest, he got it in the neck for a couple of seasons at least from a section of our support.

I can't say I'll be too disappointed if he ends up a failure and comes home but I really can't see him failing.

  2. 360 odd for Dingwall isn't really too small a travelling support considering the distances involved however the fact the buses were around £25 and match tickets £20 it's £45 day out before you spend a penny on anything else. By the time the game was confirmed as not on TV the train prices weren't ideal either and the only reason I got cheap tickets is by taking the chance on the game not being moved.

There were no failures whatsoever in that team yesterday, a fine performance and if we can continue to threaten at set pieces like that on a regular basis then I can't see Forbes getting his place back any time soon. I was really surprised Archie went with the same team as Dundee Utd, not because they weren't good on the night but because I thought we'd be far more cautious. Welsh and Fraser as a central midfield pairing seem to work very well and both of them look comfortable breaking up opposition play and getting the ball forward without any real need for a Paton type player in there with them.

The only negative of yesterday for me was Higginbotham's goal not standing. It was an excellent finish which would've rounded off both the game and a promising debut appearance from the bench. It looks like we'll give teams all sort of problems going forward with Higginbotham and Lawless running at defences and Doolan up front. Who says we need a new striker?

  3. How did you know the fixture wouldn't be moved? Not a likely TV game admittedly but I'd hate to book up for a game that gets played 2 days later.

I just took the chance. It was only £15 I lost out on if it was moved and as you say it wasn't a likely TV game on the weekend Hearts play Hibs, Rangers opened their league campaign and Celtic played their annual friendly.

  4. Aberdeen away on a Monday is a bit of a nightmare, going to have to organise time off for that.

Don't we get the same money regardless of how many games are on TV?

Yes. It's league position that determines how much we get rather than number of televised games.

  5. The issue with it being all ticket is that the club would either need to send the tickets through to Hearts to sell which is something no club should be doing with Hearts in their current situation if they actually want to see any of the cash sometime soon or sell tickets directly from Firhill meaning extra pressure on the few staff and volunteers in the office.

Hopefully the club have already thought of this and have a solution. St Johnstone were getting Hearts fans to post or email an application form in for tickets and working through them when they had the time.

  6. With today's games out of the way if we beat Ayr we would get one of the following as we would be seeded.

    Hamilton

    Raith Rovers

    Dumbarton

    Cowdenbeath

    Dunfermline

    Airdrieonians

    Queen of the South

    Alloa

    Forfar

    Stranraer

    Montrose

If we go out Hamilton are then bumped up into the seeds and replaced by Ayr in the unseeded group.

  7. Apparently parents who got their kids a season ticket received their adult ticket in the post for Friday....

But have to queue at the ground to get their kids ticket?

Why not send out the kids ticket... Or save money and ask them to queue for both.

Eh? Where will they queue? It's cash at the turnstiles on Friday so there's nowhere else to queue other than at the actual gate where kids at the home end get in for free whether season ticket holders or not. There's no extra queue, adult goes in through the gate with their voucher, their kid goes in at the same time for free as they are u16.

The club get criticised for sending out vouchers and now seem to be getting it for not sending vouchers to the 1 group of ST holders who don't need a voucher.

  8. Not got my voucher yet, seeing as nobody thought to send me the discount voucher last Saturday, result I never went. Won't go again if I don't recieve one for Saturday. Someone should get a grip as the goodwill generated last year will easily dissapate if amateurish admin continues to predominate at Firhill.

The person that should get a grip is yourself. Not going because you never got a voucher on time is incredibly stupid when you can just go to the office and get a replacement.

  9. Who were the two holding midfielders at annan?

i know he played 2 together in the first half.... but in the second, Murray came on and played on his own in the holding midfield role?

Welsh and Fraser with Welsh probably given more license of the 2 to push forward. 2nd half Fraser pushed forwards a bit, especially after Murray came on for Welsh.
