  1. The directors need to ìook at slashing prices, especially in these times of high unemployment , Firhill is situated in one of the highest unemployment blackspots in the uk, it is highly overpriced to watch games, people are choosing their games, bring the prices down to maybe £10, and people might be able to afford a programme a pie and a bovril as well

  2. While i agree on the club looking for ways to bring in revenue, the prices will increase next season if we're in the SPL to £ 20, its a lot of money in these hard times, the club will make money out of SKY TV deals etc, if we're in the SPL, the board of directors should be looking at more sponsorship from companies, Fans pay more than enough through the turnstile to watch games, and yet directors expect fans to fork out more all the time.

  3.

£60 a season for highlights and live commentary, or £1.67 per game based on a 36 game season? Don't think that's too bad to be honest.

What I would say is that we should be approaching Livingston and asking them what recording equipment they use as their pictures are of a much higher standard than ours. Don't mind so much at the moment but if we're being asked to fork out for it then it's not unreasonable to ask for a better, clearer picture.

The only downside is that if we're in the SPL then highlights will be readily available to fans that reside in the UK and there will be radio commentary of almost all of our games.

Don't think its a downside as in the SPL the club will make more money from SKY TV deals and BBC Broadcasting.

  4. Are any of the supporters buses free of charge ? the club website say, they are covering the cost, which would suggest free travel, can anyone clarify this ? Definitely be going if its free travel

  5. The board of directors are sifting through the applicants this week , and should have the list narrowed

down by Friday, they're looking for experience at this vital time with us on the verge of promotion with the finances that it brings, experience is essential at this vital time.

  6. At the end of the article there's a number of reasons why Archie and Shaggy should get to at least the end of the season.

If the players are behind them, recognise Archie's contribution thusfar and they have the benefit of being directly involved, that might be enough to persuade the board to give them a shout. It would also be the cheaper but not necesarily the worst option.

Im not so sure Archie really wants to be manager at this stage, I think he'd rather still be playing, i think the Thistle board of directors with Archie having been a player for many years at Firhill are being careful not to put too much pressure on Archie by throwing him in at the deep end, because what if it doesnt work out and we dont get to the SPL and lose the Ramsdens cup ? Does Archie feel he has to leave ? this is why I think the board are looking for a more experienced manager at this time.

  7. I'm all for it - if he can win us a league!

However, I'm of the opinion that he probably knows hee-haw about our players and / or this league.

SO, maybe not the worst shout, but not at this point of the season.

He's got Hibs Promotion from the 1st division, he could get us over the line and into the SPL. he's probably been to our games during his break from the game.

  8. Can anyone remember tunes that the team ran out to over the years at Firhill since the days of the Whistling Tune? theres one tune from the eighties that i liked , but cant remember what its called, can anyone list most of the tunes ?

  9. Made the effort through the howling wind and rain. Advised we couldn't come in as we weren't members and weren't wanting to join. I have no interest in joining the trust but was interested to hear the thoughts of our manager so was happy to pay a token donation of £5. Apparently this was not ok. Instead of getting four times £5 and bar takings they got nothing and instead the Thai restaurant on Gt Western Road (excellent and very welcoming) got the money we had earmarked for the jags.

Glad to see the trust can afford to turn away income, mustn't be a dead duck after all.

Sorry to hear that a donation was refused, can understand why you wouldnt want to be pressurized into joining, i thought a donation would have been acceptable, sorry to hear about this

  10. Everyone knows that this strike has come about because of reid's statement the other day, if this strike affects our club, should we and and other clubs like ourselves not be considering writing letters of protest to this guy, the blame is at reid's door, he should come out and apologise, but nothing has happened, its time to start complaining.

  11. Trying to think of names to replace Mcall, John Robertson, Ian mcparlan, Tommy Mclean, Jocky scott, David Hay, Willie Mcstay, Tommy craig, or Big Ex Jag Stevie Welsh, can think of any others apart from ones that have already been mentioned before, also i think if Mcall goes we shoudl open it up and ask for applications see who applies for it.

How about Stephen Craigan as Player Manager

  12. i didnt think since McCall took over as manager that it could be as bad, this is our worst position, there are clearly a lot better teams than us in this league, it is time for the directors to realise that the club are going in the wrong direction, and its time for change at the club, there is clearly something wrong with the way things are being run at Firhill, unless i see change happening and things improving, i will not be attending every home game, i will be choosing my games from now on.

  13. It was a solid performance today against Dundee today, in my opinion, if we play like this in every game , we will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season, what do you think folks?
