It's down to Levein selecting a player who was not good enough to play for Scotland last season when playing in the SPL, but is now even though he will be playing in in the third division for at least one season. This is a terrible decision because after he has been playing against the likes of Clyde, Peterhead and Elgin for more than a month or two he will be useless against international opposition. I can't see any forward thinking or planning based on 'footballing reasons' with his selection. He was clearly chosen to attempt to get Rangers back on the SFA's side, despite Levein's well documented stance against simply selecting Old Firm players because of the club they play for.

 

Still no reason to boo one of your own players, shame on the so called super tartan Army!!

The next 2 games will define the rest of the season, win both and we will have some breathing space, don't and it will be BUTT CLENCHING time!

 

The main problem I have is that we never look happy in our formations, most of the time I think the players don't have a clue where they should be either.

Official PTFC calendars for 2012 will be on sale at various points around the ground on Saturday, at The Aitken Suite, the North Gate, the top of South Drive and we will also have someone going round the tables in hospitality.

 

The price is the same as last year, only £5, which is a bargain compared to these wee stalls in the shopping centres with "West Highland Terrier Puppies" and "The Joy of Steam Trains".

The joy that a small child will feel on opening his or her parcels on Christmas morning to find not only a satsuma, but a Jags calendar amongst their presents.

And your workmates will glow with pride when you insist on a Jags calendar on the canteen wall for 2012, instead of full colour views of lassies with power tools on the "Sock it to Me" tool company's calendar.

 

Seriously though, the calendars are in limited numbers and we sold last year's lot fairly easily, so get in early. They'll be on sale this Saturday, on the 17th and on Boxing Day.

I was lucky enough to miss the Falkirk game but have been to every other game, the only one where I can say we played well was the Dundee game! The other games, mostly against 3rd division crap or second rate 1st division sides, we looked absolutely shocking with absolutely no ideas from middle to front. I fear the worst for the rest of the season, McColl doesn't have a clue, the players are inept or over the hill, but worst of all the board sit with their fingers up their ar#eholes waiting for a fairy godmother to give them 3 wishes ( they would probably f#ck that up as well). Although he may not have the same pace anymore, Simon Donnelly has insight and vision into how the game is unfolding around him. He can link up well with others to unlock defences and could be a really good influence on on younger squad members this season.

 

I also would not be surprised to see him make the transition to management in the next 2-3 years. Like Danny Lennon and Allan Moore, I think he has the potential to go further within the game after his playing career ends.
